About the Opportunity

Job Description

Reporting to the Manager of Communications and Outreach, the successful candidate for the Communications and Outreach Coordinator position will play a key role in the day-to-day operations of CMRAO's dynamic and efficient Communications and Outreach department. The Communications and Outreach Coordinator supports the development and execution of a range of communications products and strategies, as well as the planning and implementation of outreach and stakeholder engagement activities.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

Social Media Coordination

  • Ongoing development of social media content and publishing of monthly content calendar
  • Drafting content that is both compelling and interesting, and creating well-designed graphics
  • Reviewing analytics and providing data for reports, as well as observing trends
  • Identifying opportunities to improve outreach to relevant stakeholders
  • Providing responses to comments received across all platforms and ongoing community maintenance

Writing and Editing

  • Drafting web content and emails for multiple audiences
  • Developing engaging content for articles, blog posts, and video scripts
  • Assisting with the coordination and production of internal and external newsletters, and other outreach products for stakeholders
  • Reviewing and editing written reports and other documents, as well as conducting background research when necessary

Graphic Design and Video Production

  • Using Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, and Acrobat) to produce graphics and other design materials, and Premiere Pro and After Effects to produce GIFs and videos
  • Adhering to the organization's visual identity standards to ensure that all outgoing communications materials meet established standards

Communications Team Project Management

  • Coordinating incoming and outgoing translation requests
  • Monitoring and reporting on the effectiveness of communications and outreach activities
  • Coordinating printing and production of marketing and communications materials

Skills

  • Strong computer skills and proficiency with MS Office tools (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Good writing skills and experience with content development
  • Basic video production skills and experience with iMovie, Premiere Pro and After Effects is an asset

Working Conditions

  • Work is performed at minimum two days a week in a typical office environment
  • May be required to work extended hours to meet program volume demands
  • Occasional travel may be required
  • Work is performed in an environment dealing with time pressures and competing priorities
  • There is a 3-month probationary period for this position
