Job Overview
The Events Sales Manager is responsible for delivering the member and guest experience from event planning, to handling customer requirements during meetings, to post-event follow-up with customers. Key to this role is developing expertise in understanding member and guest needs, maximizing customer satisfaction, and driving incremental revenue to the Club.
Duties & Responsibilities
Assists the Food and Beverage Director with developing an annual entertainment and social calendar for Members within budget allowances.
- Works with sport sections and Food and Beverage Director to effectively schedule in house functions without losing profitable events.
- Responsible for active marketing and revenue generation within the legal room capacities for the private function facilities and services offered to Members and non-members; corporate and social.
- Maintains an overview of the function and operation of the Catering department to include the Catering office and private function rooms.
- Plans, coordinates, and oversees large social events to maximize revenue. Ensures the timely follow-up and pursuit of strategic relationships with customers and stakeholders to drive the highest levels of conversion.
- Implements and maintains the annual operating budget including recommendations for capital improvements and replacements.
- Fiscally reviews, monitors, and executes approved budget goals to include revenues, cost of material, catering payroll, and office operating expenses in best way.
- Coordinates and oversees major Club events/functions to ensure that it is adequately and properly carried out to the necessary arrangements.
- Plan and conduct pre-event meetings with clients and banquets team members to identify ways to enhance the member and guest experience.
- Assigned upon situation as the point-of-contact to give immediate assistance in order that customer's needs are met quickly, and their event runs smoothly.
- Oversees to ensure that appropriate documentation of contracts, function accounts, and deposits are accurately processed in a timely manner in accordance to the deadlines set by the Accounting department.
- Supervise the timely delivery of Master Invoice to customers and facilitate payment.
Job Qualifications
- Possess a food and beverage hospitality degree or diploma from an accredited educational institution or equivalent.
- Has a minimum of 3 years managerial experience in the food and beverage industry to include excellent knowledge in catering sales.
- Experience in similar capacity in private club environment is an asset.
- Strong leadership and effective motivational skills; team spirit orientation; good interpersonal communication and human resources skills, exceptional organizational skills, good problem-solving skills, results oriented, and self motivated.
- Excellent communications skills and the ability to speak, read and write fluent English.
- Extensive industry and product knowledge and experience in budgeting, forecasting, marketing, and sales.
- Proficient and sufficient degree of computer literacy with a good understanding of Jonas software or equivalent Catering software.
