We are seeking an experienced individual to join our team as the Vice President of Marketing. This individual will be based in Winnipeg, Manitoba, and provide leadership to our small and growing Marketing team. They will report directly to the President and will work closely with other pillars of the organization to ensure market and product position is in alignment with efforts at large, and that corporate brand standards prevail through client facing materials.
The Vice President of Marketing (?VPM?) is responsible for the Company's marketing strategy and execution. The Company's marketing strategy is based upon five pillars:
- Social and digital
- Brand strategy
- Experiential and on-premise for events
- Data and analytics
- Communication strategies and execution (audience growth and engagement)
Responsibilities
Social and Digital Marketing
The VPM will oversee the development and execution of the Company's social and digital marketing strategy and will be responsible for:
- Growing audience and engagement across all platforms
- Ensuring the social and digital marketing efforts are properly aligned with and support the sales cycle of the business (information, urgency, activation, and reflection & celebration)
- Managing a content calendar across our social media channels
- Executing and optimizing digital engagement platforms through partnering with well-known hockey influencers, prioritizing reels, building a library of footage, maintaining a high frequency of posting, and focusing on community engagement
- Coordinating and executing social media giveaways
- Managing website content (brand) and layout
Brand Strategy
The VPM will be responsible for the Company's brand and will oversee:
- Bringing the Company's vision, mission, and goals to life internally and with customers
- The brand's personality
- Understanding and refining the Company's target audience
- Supporting strategies promoting safe inclusive environment and all policies that exist to ensure awareness for positive behaviour at events
- Ensuring the Company's brand pillars are considered when key marketing and operational decisions are made
- Media and communications support as required
- Email marketing and compliance within all national / local laws
Experiential and On-Premise
Be responsible for the ?look and feel? of Play Hockey events. The VPM will have ultimate responsibility for how Play Hockey sets up its own on-premise signage, welcome tables, apparel booths, media walls, etc. The VPM will work closely with the Sponsorship and Partnership team to coordinate the on-premise activation of sponsors and partners. The VPM will also work with other Play Hockey staff to ?audit? the on-premise look and feel of events for quality and consistency.
Data and Analytics
The VPM will leverage data and analytics to inform the Company's marketing strategy. As a result, the VPM will be responsible for:
- Evaluating, monitoring and communicating a scorecard as it relates to all digital engagement and effectiveness of platforms
- Selecting and implementing the Company's data analytic tools
- Communication strategies and execution (audience growth and engagement)
- Recommending and implementing platforms that consolidate and streamline communication (email, digital and web)
- Using data and analysis to measure effectiveness of campaigns and awareness to make immediate changes to impact change to the business
- Sharing results with all impacted stakeholders both successes and areas of opportunity
- Making recommendations based on analysis and data to streamline customer flow and optimize assets
- Develop assets that can be measured and monetized
