MARKETING AND COMMUNICATIONS ASSOCIATE:

Reporting to the Director of Marketing, Communications & Recruitment, the Marketing and Communications

Associate will plan, develop and execute marketing projects, updating the Loyalist website daily, graphic design

partners on the creative layout and print partners on publication and distribution, will write key corporate

communications content to promote the College, its programs, initiatives and events across multimedia platforms.

Communications to prospective students and stakeholders include the collateral above, as well as news articles,

news releases, web messages, social media messages, and advertising copy. Building on existing strategy and

framework, the incumbent will enhance the College's online experience and brand.

RESPONSIBILITIES : ?

  • Works with faculty and staff to bring together and integrate activities and resources required to develop and produce large publications, including, but not limited to; the College guide, 65+ program and service brochures, Focus magazine, Awards and Convocation programs, Congrats on your Acceptance Package ?
  • Writes and produces content and posts in appropriate locations in a timely fashion ?
  • Creates concise and compelling content for various College marketing and communications publications ?
  • Ensures College literature conforms to high standards and brand identity guidelines and revises as required ?
  • Develops and distributes multimedia content through the website, social and traditional mediums to help drive visitor engagement and College enrolment ?
  • Creates digital communications for staff, students and the public regarding important notices such as emergencies and inclement weather closures ?
  • Supports 24/7 College operations and emergencies, updating content, troubleshooting and consultation, resolving performance and related website/social media issues ?
  • Coordinates advertising commitments, print copies, brochures and banners, etc. ?
  • Defines the optimal online user experience and enhances the layout, navigation and flow of the website to guide the implementation of it ?
  • Monitors effectiveness of web content and compiles website analytics ?
  • Uses student insight and user feedback to assess content effectiveness, note content gaps, make suggestions for changes and implement modifications ?
  • Creates, monitors and recommends changes to Search Engine Optimization when required ?
  • Continually reviews, recommends and coordinates the latest multimedia initiatives related to the College's external web presence ?
  • Attends College events for the purpose of supporting video or photography, conducting interviews and writing follow-up material for external distribution

QUALIFICATIONS : ?

  • Completion of a three (3) year diploma/degree in Journalism, Communication Arts, Media, Television or New
  • Media or a related program from a recognized post-secondary institution ?
  • Minimum three (3) year's experience in content development and editing with a focus on web strategy in media, corporate, public relations agency or communications firm ?
  • Proven ability to proactively plan and execute large projects, including information guides, publications, brochures, and other marketing materials. ?
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills ?
  • Experience creating, updating and monitoring website and other social media content ?
  • Must have advanced computer skills including proficiency using content management systems and social media platforms ?
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with a variety of customers internal and external to the College ?
  • Strong analytical skills demonstrating a proactive approach to problem solving ?
  • Excellent organizational skills and a proven ability to develop priorities to manage large volumes of information and meet strict deadlines ?
  • Ability to be courteous, tactful, diplomatic and persuasive in dealing with others ?
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team ?
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality ?
  • Must have a valid driver's license and clean driver's abstract
