OVERVIEW:

Mindshare is looking for an Associate, Marketing Science with a passion for marketing and a curiosity for media in advertising. This role is in the Strategy team and is an integral part in creating meaningful interactions between people and brands, providing the critical foundation for how we can be agile for brands to thrive. Its responsibility is to link the business strategy to a communication strategy and translate the communications strategy into an optimal and integrated framework that identifies the key elements (e.g. channels, content formats) that are needed to bring the plan to life. Its ultimate ambition is to tangibly and effectively articulate how consumers will experience the core creative idea across all paid, owned and earned communication touchpoints, in a way that adds value to the brand, the consumer, and culture.

The Associate plays a key role in planning and executing day-to-day insights work. This includes, but is not limited to collecting, organizing and harmonizing third-party data sets across multiple sources. You are integral to support the Client Leadership team as they allocate media budgets and optimize effective plans for their accounts.

How you will make an IMPACT:

  • Provide thought leadership for the agency, fielding questions from the Client Leadership team who utilize different data sets and tools within their everyday work
  • Generate audience, competitive, and category insights from large sets of data; display in an actionable and informative matter for the intended audience
  • Understand the methodology from different data sources and how they work together to be able to handle agency asks and challenges as they arise
  • Manipulate large data sets and communicate ideas and information logically and sequentially
  • telling a story with the information
  • Be more than just Google
  • Mindshare subscribes to over 25 different data sources locally and it will be crucial to understand how to use these different data sets together to answer client's questions
  • Create presentation materials that are clear, compelling and persuasive
  • Uncover the larger story within the data and clearly communicate a high-level analysis backed up by specific data points
  • Train team members on syndicated and proprietary research tools and systems, being able to take a complex idea and relaying it in simple language
  • Proactively take on projects and resolve issues, knowing when and whom to ask for guidance
  • Manage multiple deliverables and able to seamlessly transition among them
  • Work as a team player and promote collaboration to complete projects, but also be able to take ownership of tasks and work autonomously

What YOU bring:

  • College Diploma or Bachelor's degree, preferably with a concentration in Statistics, Business, or Marketing, or equivalent experience
  • 1+ years of relevant work experience (media or marketing agency experience preferred)
  • Proven experience with client presentation and reporting
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite:
  • Excel
  • pivot tables, graphing, formulas
  • PowerPoint
  • present data in word, graphs, and visuals
