Heartland Disposal & Recycling is looking for an sales and marketing coordinator to join our team in our Edmonton office. This person will work to promote the business through various sales & marketing efforts.

The ideal candidate is a high-energy individual with excellent organizational skills, a strong attention to detail and the ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal communications.

Responsibilities:

Brief Job Description:

• Monitor government contract opportunities published daily (Alberta Purchasing Connection) and support relevant bid submissions
• Conduct market analysis to determine how to best penetrate the market
• Compile prospective customer list for contact (use Edmonton Construction Association Membership List as one source) and work with sales staff to contact prospective customers
• Design sales and marketing collateral and coordinate printing
• Work with website developer to allow ?Online Request for Quotes?
• Work with website developer to improve website and internet presence, as well as website traffic including internet search optimization (SEO) activities
• Assist the development of our online presence using various social media platforms

Requirements:

• High school diploma
• 1-2 years academic experience in sales and marketing courses
• Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills
• Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Positive, high-energy attitude, and comfortable speaking on the phone
• Resourcefulness, creativity, and problem-solving skill set
• Familiarity with office equipment (i.e. printers, fax machines, projectors)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially MS Excel and PowerPoint), and savvy with various social media platforms

This is a temporary contract position funded through the Canada Summer Jobs Program and is ideally suited for a college or university student that is focused on a sales and marketing diploma or degree and looking to apply their classroom learning and personal abilities to a newly created position.

This is a paid internship with an pay rate of $17.30 per hour.
