OVERVIEW

The Internal Communications Lead will provide critical support for various Company-wide initiatives to advance key business priorities, implementing internal communications plans that engage, align and inspire employees. The Lead will work closely with senior leaders and cross functional teams to deliver effective communications. Actively contributing to a positive and productive working environment, the Lead will serve as the senior most internal communications resource in the absence of the Director of Internal Communications.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Develop and manage communications for internal audiences

  • Provide strategic guidance, develop, and manage key initiatives within the Internal Communications strategy, including planning, program development and execution.
  • Counsel senior leaders to develop effective Internal Communications strategies, leveraging best practices.
  • Develop a strong understanding of the organization's voice and narrative to coach peers and leaders to ensure clear and consistent messaging is disseminated across the organization.
  • Develop and implement communications guidelines, processes, and a measurement program.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to team members to support their development as communications professionals.
  • Act as senior editor for the development, production and maintenance of internal communications tools and channels.
  • Lead the creative development, writing and production of internal communication materials, including news content, speeches, presentations and corporate videos.
  • Partner with key internal functional teams to plan and develop proactive, planned and effective internal communications.
  • Support crisis and issues management to ensure teammates are kept up-to-date regarding organizational decision making and available resources.
  • Plan, organize and execute internal events (in-person and virtual), working with cross-functional teams to deliver all elements of the event.
  • Manage related budgets as required.

Job Requirements

  • Post-secondary degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations or related field,
  • Successful track record of delivering strategic communications plans in a complex and fast-paced organization.
  • Experience developing content strategies, editing and writing for varying mediums, and delivering key messages through a variety of communication channels.
  • Bilingual French/English preferred
