The Marketing and Events Coordinator is the Swiss Army knife of the marketing team, located in Surrey, BC but working a blend of in office and remotely: you will know that this is the right job for you if you think that the phrase ?other duties as assigned? is the best part of this job profile.

You help GroupHEALTH's marketing team achieve excellence with your superior multi-tasking skills, can-do spirit, superb teamwork and love of variety. You work within the marketing team to deliver best-in-class service to our internal and external clients, make marketing operations even more effective, and help deliver special projects and events on time and on budget.

OUTCOMES

Within the first 30 days you will:

  • Understand how your role contributes to GroupHEALTH's vision and mission
  • Learn Marketing team processes, including queue management
  • Learn GroupHEALTH's people processes, and complete your corporate onboarding
  • Shadow the members of the Marketing team, to understand their needs and deliverables
  • Establish coaching and direction routines with the Manager, Marketing Services

Within the first 60 days you will:

  • Collaborate with your Marketing colleagues to support two new initiatives and deliverables
  • Meet with key stakeholders outside the Marketing team, to understand their needs and deliverables

Within the first 90 days you will:

  • Initiate at least one new process or program to drive GroupHEALTH's growth and/or improve our efficiency
  • Master the Marketing team's queue management and budget management processes, including making suggestions to improve key processes
  • Support the planning of at least one corporate event
  • Meet with all key vendors to understand their role
  • Fully coordinate to completion at least five requests from internal clients
  • Complete the first two CEBS e-learning modules to become familiar with the Group Benefits sector

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinates internal and external client requests
  • Provides day-to-day marketing support to Associations, Advisor Partners and Business Development Managers, and is often their first point of contact in the marketing team
  • Triages new association, partner, client and internal stakeholder requests
  • Clarifies requirements for new requests, as needed
  • Drafts requirements and produces first draft of content and design, as appropriate
  • Coordinates marketing operations
  • Coordinates and improves marketing operations and production processes
  • Reviews and updates the marketing project and task queue
  • Compiles marketing metrics from multiple sources for strategic reporting
  • Liaises with suppliers to complete marketing requests
  • Maintains and updates key internal and external communications channels, including intranets and extranets;
  • Provides day-to-day office support
  • Coordinates corporate events
  • Assists with the planning of corporate events
  • Assists with the execution of events, including logistics, hosting/guest relations and vendor management
  • Coordinates special projects
  • Works with marketing specialists, internal clients and external stakeholders to complete special projects on-time and on-budget.
  • Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • 1-2 years' experience in a Marketing Coordinator role with no insurance background, or an insurance professional with at least 2-3 years of experience seeking their first marketing role.
  • Post-secondary education with a focus on Marketing or related disciplines (Commerce; Business, etc.) preferred, but not required
