Job Title: Communications Coordinator
Reporting to: Team Lead, Marketing & Communications

As Swoop becomes more complex and dynamic, we are seeking a Communications Coordinator to join our dynamic and creative Marketing, Digital and Communications team.
Reporting to the Marketing and Communications Team Lead under the supervision of the Communications Advisor, the Communications Coordinator will be a key part of the Marketing and Communications team, supporting the development of internal and external communications strategies, and subsequently executing those plans.
This is a fast-paced position that provides a diverse day-to-day list of to-dos with a strong focus on communications planning, media writing and pitching and stakeholder coordination. If you are a driven, energetic, confident, creative and collaborative self-starter, this role could be for you.
Key Responsibilities :
A key player on the Marketing and Communications team at Swoop, the Communications Coordinator will work hand in hand with Swoop's Communications Advisor to plan and execute on external communication projects, participating in proactive media outreach and reactive media relations. The Communications Coordinator at Swoop also supports internal communications, working with internal stakeholders to deliver and deliver communications that are critical to everyday operations. From time to time the Communications Coordinator will need to take the job on road, travelling with fellow MarComm team members to support in the planning and execution of events such as inaugural flights, trade shows and press conferences.
Specific responsibilities include :
Supporting the Communications Advisor in developing external communications strategies to achieve corporate objectives and enhance Swoop's brand reputation
Draft various external communications including press releases, media pitches, executive speaking notes and event briefing documents
Coordination of media inquiries, and subsequent coordination of interviews when applicable
Monitor and report on analytics of Swoop's ongoing media coverage
Supporting internal stakeholders to craft internal communications to Swoop's employee groups, including executive communications as needed
Assisting with developing and drafting communications strategies pertaining to employee engagement
Own and maintain Swoop's online internal communications hub
Managing the timing of projects, keeping projects on schedule and taking a proactive approach to daily tasks.
Attending applicable meetings to help support key stakeholders with resources throughout the summer period.
Other duties, as assigned.
Qualifications and Required Skills :
A minimum of 2-4 years Communications experience with proven media relations and internal communications skills.
A Communications-related degree (Communications, Public Relations, and/or Journalism).
Proven issues management skills and experience.
Strong experience managing relationships with media.
Exceptional writing and editing skills, transferrable to a wide variety of audiences including internal and external messaging.
Strong communication, presentation and networking skills and experience working with people at all levels from peer to president.
Experience with media monitoring systems such as Cision or Meltwater.
Able to multitask, move quickly and effectively and consistently perform under tight deadlines.
A highly organized self-starter with the ability to produce quality work in an ever-changing business.
Strong desire to use initiative and take accountability for all work.
Fluent written, spoken and reading capability in English (French and Spanish a considerable asset) .
Highly motivated to succeed with energy and enthusiasm.
Commercial acumen and strong negotiation skills.
Remote, work from role requiring a strong internet connection and effective virtual collaboration and project management.
May be required to travel up to 30% and/or represent Swoop virtually at relevant industry conferences and engagements.
