Responsibilities
Summary:
Our team continues to grow and we're looking for a savvy communications professional to help bring our strategies and campaigns to life. The Communications Specialist will approach projects with an eye for detail and creative intention to elevate content across a variety of platforms. While the ideal candidate is a strong writer, the role does require communication planning skills for multiple audiences.
Responsibilities:
Strong command of English and French languages; writing, reading, and speaking
- Deliver high-quality, creative internal and external communications initiatives
- Copywriting, writing, editing and revision for internal, external and marketing communications (for websites, blogs, corporate communications, PR, industry news, SEO, email marketing campaigns and social media writing)
- Communication planning and implementation
- internal and external
- Communication planning for multiple audiences, and coordinating the delivery members of the communications and marketing team through online marketing automation technology.
- Tracking performance of communications and content to proactively identify effective or evolved communications solutions.
- Development of marketing collateral, corporate and internal communications pieces, including briefing and project management of digital and print design material
- Coordination of ongoing content, independently and with internal teams
- Support senior leadership and subsidiaries of Financial Horizons Group with key messaging and presentations
- Identify marketing and communication trends and explore solutions suited to the company and the financial services industry
- Stay informed on industry news and developments to support marketing and communication efforts of the company
- Provide National & Regional events support as required, including promotion and building content for professional development; reward and recognition programs
- Assist with translation, requests/fulfillment; review and revise translated documents (English and French)
- Any other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Degree or education relevant to Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or similar

- Strong communication skills
- Advanced writing and editing skills in English (French an asset)
- Understanding and tailoring messages to specific audience
- Familiarity with Canadian Press Style practices is preferred
- Communications planning for small to medium sized initiatives
- Project management
- Ability to learn and adapt to evolving demands and problem solve
- Ability to create shareable content appropriate for specific networks to deliver and strengthen brand awareness along with proprietary content and products
- Ability to interpret corporate brand guidelines with a connection to brand tone of voice

- Ability to manage multiple projects of varying scales

Experience
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a communications role
- Experience with write and creating content for a wide range of marketing and communications strategies, including web, video scripts, and social media
- Experience with marketing automation software (i.e. Marketo) is a strong asset
- Experience with Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Experience with creating digital communications, particularly in terms of web content
