Purpose: Supporting the Glacier FarmMedia (GFM) mission, along with the Marketing and Communications Department's Foundational Document, the Director of Marketing will lead a talented team of professionals to educate and engage farmers and agriculture industry leaders about the power of GFM's products.
Reporting to the Vice President of Marketing and working closely with the Director of Corporate Communication, members of the Marketing and Communications Team, and internal and external stakeholders, you are a key leader of the Marketing and Communications Division.
The Director of Marketing will further develop and manage marketing strategy and operations to support GFM's strategic business priorities, including annual marketing plans and brand management across business units. Important elements of this role are a strategic business mindset, identifying revenue generation opportunities, identifying opportunities to increase brand reputation, supporting business unit leaders in their objectives, lead marketing coordinators, and sharing insight, thoughts, and advice as we find new and innovative ways to help farmers and ag professionals improve farming in Canada.
Description of Work Performed :
- Create and oversee the implementation of marketing strategy and execution across all Glacier FarmMedia brands, with the goal of supporting business objectives
- Effectively manage resources and budgets for the marketing department
- Plan and oversee GFM's brand strategy, including consistent message and image of individual brands and how brands interact with each other
- Co-manage GFM brand (with the Director of Corporate Communication)
- Deploy the latest technologies, channels, and platforms available for digital marketing
- Earn, measure, and evaluate ROI for marketing initiatives
- Produce reports for internal analysis as needed
- Perform other duties as required
Skills and Qualifications :
- Degree in Marketing, Agriculture, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 7-10 years of direct work experience in a marketing capacity
- supervisory experience preferred.
- Knowledge of the agriculture industry a definite asset.
- Proven ability to prepare and implement marketing strategies in a variety of channels.
- Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication.
- Highly effective skills in project management, prioritization, multi-tasking, and time management.
- A well-defined sense of diplomacy, including solid negotiation, conflict resolution, and people management skills.
- Ability to plan, organize and effectively present ideas and concepts to groups. Ability to assimilate information from a variety of sources.
- Ability to analyze information and recommend courses of action to be taken.
- Computer literacy, including effective working skills of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, e-mail and Adobe desktop publishing and web-authoring products.
- Some flexibility and weekend hours will occasionally be required.
