As our Director, Marketing & Communications, you will lead the team with a new mandate that is highly focused on our external target audiences, including 1) Shippers, 2) Carriers, and 3) Prospective Candidates for both Driver and Non-Driver occupational groups. You will collaborate with key stakeholders on critical growth strategies and missions that have an industry-wide impact and partner with the business to drive short and long-term results. This leadership role is responsible for all aspects of marketing and communications across our various channels both internal and external along with leading a team of marketing professionals who have helped shape Bison as one of the marketing leaders within the Transportation industry. As a marketing expert, you will have a proven track record of taking creative and innovative ideas from conception to completion. This role reports into the Senior Vice-President, Sales & Marketing.
Key Responsibilities :
Lead strategy development of marketing growth initiatives in step with business unit leaders (Sales, Operations, Recruitment) to ensure targets and initiatives are supported in each critical area of the business
Lead the strategy creation, distribution, and maintenance of all collateral and content (print and digital) including, but not limited to, newsletters, publications, presentations, photography and videography, fundraising materials, digital/social media, and website
Measure and evaluate return on investment for marketing initiatives and transform market trends and promotional opportunities into distinct competitive advantages
Oversee and participate in the development and coordination of various marketing campaign activities such as local and national promotions, community investment initiatives, major client focused events, all of which build Bison's brand awareness, community presence and attract new business opportunities
Plan and oversee Bison's brand strategy across all marketing and communication channels
Procure advertising related services such as Google, print, and collaborate with external agencies as required
Serve as a leader and mentor to the Marketing and Communications team
Deliver on day-to-day project management, ensure all projects and initiatives are on time and on budget
Desired Skills and Experience:
Completion of post-secondary degree preferably in Marketing, Communications or Public Relations
3+ years' experience in a leadership role, which include the ability to performance manage, coach, supervise, foster teamwork, provide feedback and develop budgets
5+ years of experience in generalist marketing communications, public relations, communications, or a combination of these fields
Strong project management and organizational skills to deliver on time and on budget
Proven experience developing marketing plans that deliver measurable business results
Exceptional communication skills (written and verbal) with an understanding of multimedia and visual communications
Solid understanding of current industry trends and digital publishing technologies
Expertise in defining and implementing standardized marketing and communications processes, guidelines, and policies across an organization a definite asset.
Positive, collaborative approach to work.
Relevant industry knowledge is considered an asset.
