motionball is a national non-profit that empowers young Canadians to be leaders in their communities, raising funds and awareness for Special Olympics through integrated social and sporting events. Our purpose is to create a sustainable funding model and base of supporters for the Special Olympics movement. POSITION SUMMARY:

motionball is seeking an Events and Marketing Coordinator to join our National Office team based in Toronto, Ontario. Reporting to the Associate Director, National Events and working closely alongside the events team, the individual in this role will be responsible for developing materials that promote and deliver motionball messaging to stakeholders and the public and overseeing a portfolio of events.

This position is a one-year contract with the opportunity to renew into a permanent role.

HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE:

65% - Event Support

  • Oversee a portfolio of events including but not limited to: CF24, motionballU, Marathon of Sports
  • Provide on-site and pre-event support at motionball Toronto Signature events: Gala, Marathon of Sport, Forty Fore Fall Classic and others
  • Assist in the execution of the Annual General Meeting
  • Support motionball's volunteer Event Directors across Canada in the planning and execution of 3-4 Marathon of Sport events (travel within Canada will be required)

35% - Marketing & Social Media

  • Oversee and coordinate digital media strategies, including social media, websites, and email marketing for all motionball properties (Galas, Marathon of Sport, motionballU, CF24, #NoGoodWay)
  • Monitor and report on website, email, and social media responses
  • Create and design promotional/marketing materials and toolkits
  • Create and update content schedules and templates for volunteer Committees
  • Support motionball Chapters with their local social media initiatives
  • Support motionball Chapters with local advertising and promotion in their communities
  • Collaborate with staff and volunteers to collect content from all of motionball's event properties
  • Work closely with motionball's Public Relations firm to promote events and initiatives
  • Provide support to motionball's annual #NoGoodWay anti-bullying campaign
  • Create and order all on-site and digital event signage

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A College or University degree in Events, Marketing, Communications, PR, or a related field
  • Relevant experience in a similar role in a non-profit or events setting
  • Experience with social media content creation and account management
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Wordpress, Canva, and HTML are assets
  • Adaptable and flexible, able to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Solid organizational and time management skills and solutions-oriented
  • Reliable, responsible, resourceful, and motivated individual
  • Must be able to multitask to support multiple events across multiple properties simultaneously
  • Keen analytical skills, attention to detail with ability to take initiative and direction
  • Willingness to travel to Canadian cities and work evenings and weekends, as projects and events demand it
  • Bilingualism (English and French) is an asset.

This position is a hybrid model with all staff in office twice a week and working from home for the remaining 3 days. This is subject to change throughout the year based on the event season.
