Role: Sr. Software Test Developer

Location: Halifax, NS (Hybrid)

Duration : Long Term Contract

Job Description:

• Design, implement and carry out the development necessary to build any automation solutions to support shift left and continuous testing in the DevOps pipeline.
• Support and enable app teams to adopt SonarQube to improve code quality and test coverage (e.g. troubleshoot scan failure), and help defining guidelines and best practices.
• Enable app teams to integrate qTest (a Test Case Management Solution) for tracking test executions and results in their DevOps pipeline.
• Build and expand our automated regression/smoke tests for our in-house build DevOps pipeline platform (e.g. Azure, Virtual Machine etc).

Must-Have

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Diploma in IT with equivalent IT experience
• 5+ years' experience in software development (Java/Python) or in SDET.
• Experience working with JIRA, Jenkins, Maven, Nexus, VB, Windows, Linux, Shell scripting, Groovy.
• Creative and analytical thinker who is self-driven and capable of working in a fast-paced environment.

Nice to Have Skills and Experience:

• Knowledge of DevOps methodology and tools.
• Sound knowledge of testing concepts.
• Experience with Open Source and industry recognized testing tools (e.g. JMeter)
• Experience with API development and User Interface development.
• Experience in writing SQL queries and Databases like PostgreSQL, MySQL, MSSQL, Oracle etc.
• Excellent interpersonal and highly developed communication skills (verbal and written)
