Team Rubicon Canada (TR Canada) is seeking a Director, Brand and Communications. You are a passionate and seasoned communications professional with a strategic mindset and proven leadership abilities, possessing extensive experience in public relations, brand management, and communications strategy development. Reporting to the VP, Development and Communications, you will play a crucial role in enabling our mission by shaping and executing a comprehensive communications strategy that amplifies our impact and strengthens our brand presence. As the Director, Brand and Communication, you will be responsible for providing strategic guidance to the Executive Leadership Team, managing a talented communications team, and ensuring the alignment of departmental goals with our organizational objectives.

Duties:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive communications strategy that aligns with TR Canada's mission and vision.
  • Provide strategic advice to the Executive Leadership Team on communications-related matters, including public relations, crisis management, reputation enhancement, and stakeholder engagement and translate strategic guidance into operational activities and direction.
  • In collaboration with Team Rubicon Inc, oversee the development and implementation of TR Canada's brand strategy, ensuring consistency across all communication channels.
  • Identify and lead public relations initiatives to drive brand profile and establish TR Canada's people as thought leaders across relevant sectors.
  • Lead, mentor, and inspire the brand and communications team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence.
  • Provide guidance and support to team members, ensuring clarity of roles, responsibilities, and expectations.
  • Prepare and distribute press releases, media kits, and other materials to promote TR Canada's initiatives and accomplishments.
  • Monitor brand perception and reputation, implementing strategies to enhance brand equity and recognition.
  • Monitor industry trends and stakeholder feedback to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Serve as a spokesperson for TR Canada, representing the organization at events, conferences, and media interviews as needed.
  • Coordinate and oversee the leadership team's presence at functions and high-profile visits, ensuring strategic messaging and brand alignment. This includes planning, scripting, and rehearsal for public appearances, as well as managing logistics and communications to enhance TR Canada's image and stakeholder engagement.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Experience and Background

  • Bachelor's degree (in communications, marketing, public relations, or a related field), advanced degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in brand management, communications, or marketing roles, with a proven track record of leadership and strategic thinking.
  • Proven track record of leading comprehensive communications strategy development and execution.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a team towards achieving common goals.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas clearly and persuasively.
  • Strong proficiency in strategic planning, project management, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Knowledge of digital marketing, social media, and emerging communication trends.
  • Experience with Google grants, social media analytics
  • Experience working in the non-profit sector or with disaster relief organizations is desirable.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellence in oral and written communication
  • Professional experience with Asana Project Management software and Microsoft Office Suite.

Job Type:

  • Full-time, salary
  • Salary range: $90,000 to $105,000

  • Occasional travel, including overnight travel across North America.
  • Must be comfortable working in austere conditions when required.
