WHAT YOU WILL DO

Reporting to the Manager, Corporate Communications, you will be a self-motivated individual who takes initiative. Corporate Communications is responsible for supporting the reputation of The Calgary Airport Authority as well as The Authority's strategic and annual business plans through effective internal and external communications, including issues management, event management, media relations and production of a range of print and digital tools. Within this group, the Communications Coordinator is a generalist who wears many hats and has a passion for content development, good design and attention to detail.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Craft and share engaging narratives across various platforms to update diverse audiences on projects, initiatives, and corporate news.
  • Maintain brand consistency and compliance throughout marketing and advertising efforts.
  • Develop and update content for The Authority's website and intranet, ensuring alignment with search best practices and user experience.
  • Conduct project research and support corporate communication events.
  • Manage logistics and provide support for corporate events and activities.
  • Collaborate with agency partners and vendors on project delivery.
  • Monitor media coverage and support media relations efforts.
  • Plan and produce in-house videos, including script development and editing.
  • Create print and digital communication materials, including social graphics and banners.
  • Develop content for various projects, including social channels and newsletters.
  • Assist in creating corporate publications, highlighting achievements and goals.
  • Contribute to corporate brand refresh initiatives and maintain brand guidelines.
  • Collaborate on communications campaigns aimed at engaging employees, passengers, partners, and the community.
  • Ensure content accuracy and alignment with corporate objectives.
  • Assist in planning and executing corporate events while adhering to brand guidelines.
  • Support corporate communications through the generation of photography and video content.
  • Aid in crafting speaking notes and drafting news releases for corporate developments.
  • Provide support in media relations and communications during crisis situations.
  • Assist in implementing crisis communication plans to protect YYC's reputation.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field.
  • Ability to contribute to communication strategies driving engagement and enhancing brand reputation.
  • Strong writing and editing skills, capable of crafting compelling content for diverse audiences and channels.
  • Proficiency in photography and video production/editing preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; adept at collaborating with internal teams and external partners.
  • Capacity to thrive in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple projects, and adapt to shifting priorities.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and French preferred.
  • Familiarity with communication best practices.
