COMMUNICATIONS & ENGAGEMENT COORDINATOR
We are seeking a highly motivated and talented individual to join our organization. In this role you will be responsible for overseeing both internal and external communications, managing fundraising events, various communication, and engagement initiatives. This position will report directly to the Executive Director.
Office Location: 12122 68 St NW, Edmonton
Start date: To be filled as soon as possible
Job Description
Responsibilities:
· Develop print and digital marketing assets
· Grow the Community Options Social Media presence currently on Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn.
· Manage the Community Options website and update as necessary.
· Head event committees and ensure the successful execution of annual fundraising events.
· Manage sponsor relationships and meet with potential donors
· Assist in developing and implementing communication strategies to effectively engage with the community
· Conduct research on relevant topics, trends, and best practices to support communication efforts
· Write and edit content for various communication channels, including social media, newsletters, and website updates
· Proofread materials to ensure accuracy, consistency , and adherence to brand guidelines
· Coordinate, and facilitate Community Options events, including logistics, promotional and participant engagement
· Manage social media accounts including monitoring online conversations
· Collaborate with internal teams to gather information and develop compelling stories for external communication
· Periods of prolonged sitting, exposure to a computer screen and performing repetitive movements.
· Support Community Options initiatives
· There may be occasional evening or weekend shifts.
· Perform other related duties as requested
Education & Experience:
· Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
· Demonstrated expertise in social media management
· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and SharePoint).
· Knowledge of Sprout Social, Mailchimp, and Squarespace is preferred.
· Possession of a valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle.
· Attention to detail and strong proofreading abilities.
· Completion of a Criminal Records Check and the Alberta Childcare Intervention Check (dated within 6 months or more recent to hire date).
· Availability to work occasional evenings and weekends as needed for event-related tasks.
· Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing or related field preferred. A combination of experience and education will be considered.
Job Type: Part-time (20 hours per week)
Salary Range: $45.00 to $55.00 per hour based on education and experience.
