Our Team:

Our Sudbury Operations have been in existence for more than 100 years. With five mines, a mill, a smelter, a refinery and nearly 4,000 employees it is also one of the largest integrated mining complexes in the world. Sudbury is also home to several administrative sites serving both the Ontario Operations as well as all our North Atlantic Operations.

Port Colborne is home to our Nickel Refinery where raw materials from our Sudbury operations are processed into electrocobalt and precious metals and serves as a distribution centre for finished nickel products.

The Opportunity

We are currently seeking a Senior Analyst, Graphics Learning & Development to join our Learning & Development team, reporting at one of our North Atlantic operations. The Senior Analyst will support the development of functional/non-functional training through collaboration with the NA Learning & development team, BM, Regional Operations, and Regional Support groups throughout NA, as well as the UK, and Japan, and external consultants with the shared goal to effectively identify, plan, create, execute, and continuously improve various learning programs for employees and leaders across the business. This is a permanent position. This position is open to applicant also in North Atlantic locations.

Additional in this position, you will;

  • Provide L&D consultation to the business to assess, design, develop, revise and implement effective online training packages in alignment with L&D, North Atlantic Operations scope.
  • Support in the development and maintenance of a learning systems Governance framework/process allowing for improved decision making, faster resolution of training inadequacies, and expedited computer-based training development/conversion aligning with L&D, North Atlantic Operations training development initiatives.
  • Design and develop creative, high quality interactive learning content for remote training including interactive e-learning, evaluation, feedback mechanisms, facilitation manuals, engaging activities, and practical exercises that transform technical information into professionally written, engaging online instruction.
  • Convert and maintain existing learning content to digital format utilizing standardized templates and technologies as per the direction of LD Superintendent, North Atlantic Operations
  • Conduct learning needs analyses with internal and external customers and subject matter experts and then direct the design, execution, and improvement of learning experiences ensuring sound instructional design principles and processes.
  • Research, assess, and implement new training program design and theory-based training initiatives (best practices) across the North Atlantic.
  • Responsible for specific program management, including project planning, project execution, deployment, communication, change management, monitoring and reporting. Also accountable for continuous improvement and training project recap.
  • Lead Change Management along with the deployment of the Development Programs across all North Atlantic locations. Responsible for ensuring that the program is clearly communicated and understood at all levels of the business including Base Metals.

About You

Education:

  • Undergraduate degree in adult education systems, and/or,
  • Mining Engineering Technology' and/or Tertiary Education in Learning Content Development.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 6 years relevant experience in similar subject area.
  • Extensive knowledge in the mining industry, specifically knowledge and experience in mining equipment and processes - both surface and underground
  • Instructional design experience is required.
  • Experience running projects and virtual project teams.

Skills:

  • Demonstrated experience with learning support technology, such as learning management systems, eLearning software, virtual classroom technology, 3rd party learning applications, etc.
  • Strong project management and organization skills
  • Experience designing, developing, and implementing automated online training programs.
  • Ability to operate both individually and collectively with team members both within BM and across the North Atlantic.
  • Capacity of selling projects and ideas across the organization, by operating effectively within the formal and informal structures.
  • Committed to quality and excellence at work as well as continually looking for process improvements.
  • Broad understanding of the North Atlantic business (Mining, Processing & Support Areas)
  • Highly organized ability to prioritize.
  • Problem solving capability.
  • Proficient in use of Microsoft Office Suite
