The Junior Social Media Specialist is responsible for the day-to-day management of Prodigy's brand social channels and private communities. This role focuses on content creation, copywriting, scheduling content, community management, and reporting on key metrics to ensure a consistent and engaging brand experience. You will also be responsible for overseeing the community management of our social channels and parent and teacher communities, engaging with in a timely manner to create a great experience for users interacting with our brand.

YOUR IMPACT

  • Support the execution of our social media content calendar to ensure timely and relevant posts.
  • Oversee the copywriting, scheduling, and monitoring of social media and community campaigns.
  • Ensure all copy and creative elements for campaigns are published promptly, aiming to maximize engagement with our audience of families and teachers.
  • Monitor and respond promptly to all comments on our social media channels and communities daily.
  • Manage the inbox and address customer support-related inquiries from ads and brand channels.
  • Lead daily community management efforts, engaging with followers to foster a positive brand experience and support our social listening initiatives.
  • Support our expansion to new channels, meeting our audience where they are.
  • Monitor and track key metrics for social media campaigns, reporting on campaign performance, identifying key insights and areas for improvement to help us achieve our goals.
  • Assist in the design and creation of graphics and content using Canva.
  • Encourage and curate user-generated content that can be reshared on our platforms, promoting Prodigy and its real-world applications in a positive light.
  • Demonstrate a Growth Mindset by staying updated on social media trends and identifying opportunities to implement these trends on our channels to achieve positive outcomes.

ABOUT YOU

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
  • 1-2 years of experience in managing social media platforms and online communities (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter) (Internships or Co-ops included).
  • Strong writing and communication skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Basic understanding of social media analytics and ability to interpret data to generate actionable insights.
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new tools and platforms.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong creative skills for content creation.

BONUS POINTS

  • Familiarity with social media management tools like SproutSocial
  • Experience using graphic design tools such as Canva
  • Knowledge of project management platforms like Trello
  • Exposure to media monitoring tools like Cision
  • Proficiency in creating advanced graphics, video content, and other formats for social media
  • Experience with TikTok and Pinterest
