Job Description
Reporting to the President and CEO, the head of Philanthropic Development and Partnerships is responsible for philanthropic development (recruitment, reactivation, renewal and retention) and partnerships in Quebec, through campaigns, philanthropic activities and corporate presentations.
In collaboration with the President and CEO, the Head of Philanthropic Development establishes annual priorities to optimize the organization's revenue growth and plays an active role in achieving financial objectives.
The person responsible for philanthropic development and partnerships ensures the development and growth of fundraising activities, major and planned gifts, fundraising events, as well as the development and implementation of philanthropic circle development strategies.
Main responsibilities at provincial level
- Prepare solicitation files for financial partners, follow up on expected donations and sponsorships, and ensure their renewal;
- Ensure that the elements of the recognition plan are implemented for each partner;
- Maintain privileged and strategic communications with major donors to build loyalty;
- Ensure financial objectives are met by proposing fund-raising strategies, according to target groups;
- In collaboration with the President and CEO, identify and recruit sponsors and donors to ensure the success of events;
- Research profiles and donation histories of targeted potential donors to prepare solicitation packages;
- Participate in presentations of the organization to potential donors;
- Conduct canvassing at targeted business events to promote the organization and identify potential supporters;
- Collaboration with JA Canada on partnerships;
- Managing strategic allies;
- Monitor the business community to identify decision-makers and companies that could become partners of our organization;
- Participate in various projects that have an impact on donor relations and the organization's growth;
- Keep abreast of trends and best practices in philanthropy;
- Carry out any other related tasks requested by general management.
Skills
- Undergraduate or graduate university degree in a discipline relevant to the position, or equivalent experience;
- A minimum of 7 years' experience, including 5 years in a position related to the development of business partnerships within an NPO;
- Ability to develop innovative and winning strategies;
- Excellent presentation skills to the business community;
- Demonstrated solicitation and negotiation skills;
- Demonstrated ability in partner/client relations;
- Action and results-oriented;
- Team spirit;
- Perseverance, rigor and diplomacy;
