DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Under the supervision of the Head, Communications, the position holder contributes to the planning and implementation of advertising and promotion campaigns, promoting the Museum and its programming to the public and targeted audiences. They ensure the execution of promotional projects and monitor results. They also develop partnerships and manage the distribution of products and services while maintaining the brand image, with the aim of achieving the Museum's visibility, attendance, and revenue goals.

MAIN TASKS

Promotion of Museum Activities

  • Participate in the development of media plans and oversee their execution in collaboration with the Head, Communications. Manage follow-ups with agencies (media placement, creation, and Google Ads administration...).
  • Create briefing documents for media and creative agencies and coordinate the monitoring of campaigns
  • Organize the development and production of both print and digital promotional materials, ensuring all phases leading to their distribution are effectively managed.
  • Collaborate with the in-house graphic designer and external agencies to conceptualize and produce advertising content. Generate written materials for the Museum's promotional efforts, including brochures, posters, advertisements, videos, signage, and online content for cultural events. Ensure their proper revision and translation.
  • Plan and contribute in the deployment of advertisements across social media platforms;
  • Develop dissemination and cross-promotion partnerships, negotiate and draft agreements. Coordinate the monitoring of partner and sponsor benefits in campaigns, ensuring their visibility in the Museum’s promotional tools. Manage Partner activations and foster strong relationships.
  • Develop and manage promotional contests and sweepstakes. Plan and execute both on-site and off-site promotional activations.
  • Create communication strategies aimed at promoting cultural and civic events and produce related written content.
  • Analyze tactics and results and provide actionable recommendations.

General

  • Oversee the graphic design studio by organizing task schedules based on priorities using Microsoft Planner, ensuring timely follow-ups on revisions and translations, sourcing visuals, managing credits, and providing briefs to the graphic designer. Support and advise other departments in the development of their communication tools.
  • Offer support and guidance to other departments in creating their communication materials.
  • Conduct strategic monitoring of the promotion of exhibitions and cultural activities in a museum/cultural context.
  • Supervise interns
  • Assist the Head, Communications or the senior director, Marketing, Culture and Inclusion with various tasks as needed.
  • Serve as the representative of the Communications department in selected committees within the Museum, facilitating communication between these teams and the communications department.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIRED PROFILE

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in communication, advertising and promotion or other equivalent experience.
  • Excellent writing skills in French, particularly in promotional and web writing (SEO).
  • Strong planning skills, initiative, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to work under pressure and in a team environment.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Proficiency in Adobe CS5 Suite an asset.
  • Bilingual in spoken and written French and English.
  • Experience in the cultural sector an asset. Interest in culture and heritage.
  • Knowledge of various media and awareness of new trends.
  • A strong sense of aesthetics.
  • Technical and creative skills, resourcefulness, dynamism, adaptability, autonomy, and versatility.
