About the Position

Cozen O'Connor is seeking a bright, creative, service-oriented Marketing Manager to work out of our Vancouver office. The Marketing Manager will have excellent critical thinking skills and attention to detail, and takes initiative to support the Canadian offices and its associated practice groups.

The successful candidate will build a working knowledge of each practice group's services and understand their unique marketing strategies, priorities, and clients. They will assist with the planning and execution of internal and external client-facing and virtual events.

This position is part of the firm's Marketing Department based in Philadelphia and will serve as the group's representative and primary resource in Canada. The successful candidate will be expected to work closely with the Marketing Department members in the US and coordinate with other firm departments and resources as needed to meet the marketing and event needs of the Canadian offices in a manner that aligns with the firm's practices and standards.

The expected annual base salary range for this position is $110k - $135k. The offered salary will be determined based on factors such as job knowledge, skillset, experience, and internal and market equity.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a key marketing department resource to Canadian partners, practice group leadership and firm leadership in Canada and coordinate with other members of the marketing department in the US to meet the needs of the Canadian offices;
  • Prepare, maintain and update as instructed marketing materials, client pitches, news posts, and alerts on the firm website related to Canadian lawyers;
  • Support participation in seminars, conference/association sponsorships, and other firm events, including assisting with logistics, managing advertising opportunities, leveraging sponsorship opportunities, and coordinating and executing attorney participation in profile-raising events;
  • Coordinate all aspects of event management, including site inspections, venue selection and coordination, contract negotiations, materials preparation, on-site management, and post-event analysis;
  • Assist with purchasing, designing, distributing, and provisioning promotional products;
  • Act as liaison between the events team and internal departments, attorneys, and vendors to coordinate, track tasks, and maintain deadlines for the firm;
  • Coordinate on-site support (registration, nametags, audio visual, food and beverage, handouts, and giveaways) with other marketing and venue personnel;
  • Collaborate with the design team to assist with event invitations, promotional product designs, and marketing signage;
  • Track and process invoices from vendors relating to marketing events, ensuring accuracy.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years' experience in marketing, communications, or event management (law firm or other professional services marketing experience is considered an asset);
  • A professional, independent thinker with strong problem-solving skills and can offer constructive opinions and creative solutions;
  • Ability to think broadly and demonstrate a high level of initiative;
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, including writing business communications and marketing content and effectively presenting information;
  • Strong organization and project management skills and an ability to prioritize and complete simultaneous projects;
  • Exacting attention to detail in all work products;
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skill in Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. Database experience preferred;
  • Minimal domestic and US travel will be required.
