ABOUT THE ROLE
If you revel in social media storytelling, we want you to show us what you've got. The Chinese Social Media Specialist is someone who can create engaging, performance-based photos and short videos on social media, blogs and other digital platforms. The successful candidate will be creative and resourceful and have the skills to execute ideas. To be successful in this role, they must also be an avid user of social media platforms including TikTok, Instagram, and Little Red Book. The role will create compelling storytelling visual and written digital content based on data insights, background research, and a thorough understanding of client needs and objectives. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of understanding how to build and engage a social media community across multi-lingual social media platforms. This role will report to the Marketing Director and work closely with other Content Creators, Graphic Designers, and Project Coordinators.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- There are 3 key responsibilities in this role: Content Planning and Reporting, Content Creation and Community Management.
- Content Planning and Reporting
- Prepare an organized monthly content calendar for each Client account that reflects your understanding of our client's strategy and business objectives.
- Storyboard digital content for short videos and static photo carousel posts based on defined KPIs.
- Analyze performance statistics on a weekly and monthly basis so you can recommend what's working and what's not to refine our client content strategies.
- Weekly and monthly reports with performance indicators, performance trends, and your recommendations for each Client.
Content Creation
- Film, edit, copywrite and publish short video content and photo carousels for digital and social media channels for Catalyst Agents' internal brands and Client accounts. Channels include but are not limited to TikTok, Instagram, and website blog.
- Copywriting for social media content with style, tone, content and hashtags tailored for each platform.
- Copywriting for other digital and traditional media platforms as needed.
- Sourcing user-generated content online for reposting/sharing.
- Sourcing, vetting, and coordinating with influencers to create social content.
- Maintaining all client and team assets in an organized manner.
- Plan and create engaging social and digital content to achieve client marketing goals.
Community Management and Engagement
- Setting and achieving community engagement and growth KPIs/metrics for each Client account. Monthly check-in with the Client and team to provide progress on Client monthly and annual KPIs.
- Driving engagement and followers by proactively interacting with the online community. This includes responding to DMs and comments on the account.
- Monitoring Client social accounts daily and reporting issues to your manager. Alerting the Client(s) to any potential issues, forwarding DM inquiries, and responding to comments, DMs, and inquiries in a timely manner.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Relevant post-secondary education with 2+ years of full-time experience (ideally at an agency) performing the 3 responsibilities outlined above.
- Language Skills: Native Mandarin Chinese fluency is required. Fluency in written and verbal English is an asset.
- A portfolio of your work creating content for skincare, cosmetics, fashion or other luxury retail sectors is a must.
- A portfolio or link to your sample work where you have applied social media content creation and editing tools, such as Iconosquare, Hootsuite, Later, Linktree, Canva and Capcut.
- Your resume clearly illustrates that you have created engaging content supported by Client growth and engagement numbers.
Salary: $53,000, dependent on experience and meeting the outlined qualifications.
