Salary: $50,000 to $60,000
What the Job Is:
Pathfind has partnered with the Alberta Hotel & Lodging Association (AHLA) to recruit to a Communications Coordinator position. Reporting to the Marketing & Communications Specialist the successful candidate will be the key support for communications initiatives within the organization.
What You Will Be Doing:- Draft and edit content for website, newsletters, blogs, presentation materials, brochures, social media posts, etc.
- Coordinate the distribution of digital communications and maintain the AHLA website content.
- Work with external partners and vendors on content and information updates.
- Support sponsorship and preferred vendor deliverables.
- Assist in event planning activities, as required.
- Ensure all AHLA promotional materials are current.
- Support execution of social media content.
- Assist in managing communications with members, partners, and sponsors.
- Compile analytics and performance data from campaigns and digital platforms.
- Maintain organized records of assets.
- Ensure all communications adhere to brand guidelines and standards.
Who You Are:
- A diploma or degree in communications, marketing, public relations, or a related field.
- 1-3 years in a communications, marketing, project management or administrative support role, ideally in a nonprofit, association, or hospitality-related organization.
- Proficient user of Microsoft productivity tools - Outlook, Teams, Sharepoint/OneDrive.
- Familiarity with digital marketing tools: content management systems, email marketing platforms, and social media scheduling tools.
- Basic understanding of SEO and digital advertising.
- Strong writing, editing and proofreading skills.
- Ability to tailor messaging for different audiences or platforms.
- Ability to manage timelines, track deliverables, and support campaign execution.
- Comfortable working with cross-functional teams and external partners.
- Understanding of brand consistency and visual communication.
- Experience with design tools like Canva or Adobe Creative Suite is a plus.
- Professionalism in communicating with members, sponsors, and internal teams.
- Ability to support relationship-building efforts through timely and clear communication.
- It would be considered an asset if they have worked in hospitality or have gained an understanding of how the hospitality industry/tourism sector works from other work experience.
