Position
The Communications & Design Coordinator that we seek will support Habitat Edmonton's marketing and communications work. The individual is well versed at developing engaging and creative social media content for various online platforms and will assist in creating compelling content for communications mediums of the organization including newsletters, advertising, social media, website, and related fields. They are proficient at utilizing InDesign to create online and print pdfs, signage, and other marketing materials, and are experienced with all facets of video production to produce marketing materials for campaigns. They will engage professionally and respectfully in an authentic manner in public relations and community engagement with Habitat's stakeholders. The Communications & Design Coordinator is responsible for upholding the organization's brand standards. This role demands creativity, strategic thinking, and exceptional technical proficiency across various computer programs and tools, including design software and digital platforms.

Key Responsibilities:
Design & Content Creation
· Design professional documents and signage using Adobe InDesign (must be highly proficient)
· Create digital and print materials using Canva and Adobe Creative Suite
· Assist with writing and editing copy for newsletters, social media, donor outreach, and web content
· Contribute to campaign brainstorming, including fundraising, events, and ReStore promotions
Digital Communications
· Use WordPress (Elementor) to update and maintain pages on our website
· Schedule and publish content across platforms using Hootsuite
· Ensure all digital communications align with our brand and tone
Media Capture & Storytelling
· Photograph and record video content at Habitat builds, events, and donor engagements
· Edit and deliver professional, brand-aligned photo and video content for social media and web
· Assist in capturing homeowner stories and donor highlights
Events & Professionalism
· Represent Habitat Edmonton at public events and build sites with professionalism
· Interact comfortably with stakeholders, including donors, volunteers, and corporate partners
· Support setup and execution of communications needs during major campaigns and events
Who You Are:
- Have a Diploma or degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communications, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Highly proficient in Adobe InDesign for professional document and signage design
- Comfortable using Canva, WordPress (Elementor), and Hootsuite
- A strong visual storyteller with a design portfolio that demonstrates creativity and skill
- Strong written communicator with an eye for grammar, clarity, and brand tone
- Detail-oriented, organized, and self-directed
- Comfortable behind the camera and in person with donors or partners
- Passionate about social good and eager to learn and grow in a creative role
