Position Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic and self-motivated Director, Business Development and Strategic Accounts to join our MobilGrain team. This role is responsible for developing and managing commercial relationships, identifying new business opportunities and services, that drive revenue growth for our short line railways, bulk agriproducts, transload and port facilities. The ideal candidate is a proactive, driven individual with a strong understanding of railway, agriproducts and bulk materials logistics and the transportation industry, as well as a strong track record of collaboration with fellow colleagues and operating teams, to ensure realistic and feasible sales execution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Business Development: Proactively identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities and services for the railway, bulk aggregation, transload and port assets.
  • Client Relationship Management: Establish and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Sales Strategy Execution: Develop and implement effective sales strategies to achieve revenue and growth targets.
  • Contract Negotiation: Prepare, negotiate, and close commercial agreements with clients, ensuring terms align with company objectives.
  • Market Research: Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and market developments to identify new opportunities for growth.
  • Proposal Development: Prepare and present commercial proposals, pricing models, and service offerings to prospective clients.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, including operations, logistics, and customer service, to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Reporting: Maintain accurate records of sales activities, client interactions, and revenue forecasts in CRM software.
  • Compliance: Ensure all commercial activities adhere to company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in business administration, Marketing, Logistics, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience: A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a sales, business development, or commercial role, preferably within the agriproducts, transportation, logistics, or railway industry.
  • Skills:
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving revenue growth.
  • Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Knowledge: Understanding of railway and port operations is an asset.
  • Location: Ideally based in Regina or Saskatoon, with the flexibility to travel within the Canada and USA as required.
