Position: Customer Service Representative

The Company: APEL Extrusions, Ltd.

APEL Extrusions is an independent extruder, finisher and fabricator of aluminum extrusions serving the commercial, residential and industrial markets of Western Canada and the Western United States. With headquarters in Calgary, Alberta, a facility in Coburg, Oregon and a new, greenfield facility in Phoenix, Arizona, APEL Extrusions is a fully integrated extruder with six extrusion presses, (2 in Calgary, 3 in Oregon and 1 in Phoenix) and a full array of finishing capabilities occupying over 600,000 square feet of modern manufacturing space employing approximately 250 people.

Reporting to the Customer Service Manager, the Customer Service Representative acts as a principle contact between APEL's customers, the production floor and supporting departments. Primary duties revolve around helping APEL deliver outstanding service and responsiveness to our valued customers. In addition to order entry, managing conflicting priorities and basic administrative tasks, the Customer Service Representative's role involves extensive communication with customers and all areas of the company including, but not limited to, production teams, logistics and accounting. Candidates must have a pleasant and professional manner, high customer service orientation and a willingness to provide support throughout the department as required. This is a challenging, high-energy, position requiring accuracy, flexibility, ingenuity and a high degree of customer focus.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Promptly and accurately enter customer orders into APEL's production planning system.
  • Anticipate, communicate and take initiative to address customer requirements.
  • Partner with Sales Managers to understand and proactively address customer needs.
  • Basic to intermediate skills in math, including the ability to work in both imperial & metric units.
  • Beginner to intermediate skills in excel.
  • Work closely with other departments to achieve customer expectations for delivery.

Basic Qualifications:

  • At least 3 years of Customer Service experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in a fast-paced aluminum extrusion environment is a decided asset
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Windows applications including Word, Excel, Access and Outlook.
  • Post secondary education and/or experience in manufacturing or business administration.
  • Exposure to enterprise systems (EPICS) and computerized order entry is a decided asset.

Compensation:

  • Excellent remuneration and benefits package commensurate with experience.
  • This is a salary position working days (Monday - Friday) in our Calgary location.
