Overview :

The Events Manager, reporting to the Director, Events & Sponsorships, collaborates on event strategy and tactics with Marketing colleagues and firm Partners. The incumbent will work with Marketing to present event proposals, critical paths and event execution.

The Events Manager is also responsible for day-to-day operations, including communications, registration, vendor relations, budget, all logistical aspects and the technical production working with a team of three. What you will do:

As an Events Manager on the buyer's side, your responsibilities will be:

  • Initial event project planning to determine overall objectives and optimal return on investment while recommending bespoke event options.
  • Management of multiple events at any given time.
  • Relationship management with national and local vendors.
  • Budget management from conception to final reconciliation, including presentations to key stakeholders.
  • Event preparation and delivery - from sourcing venues, finalizing contracts, conducting briefings with all vendors and staff prior to event, vendor relations, liaising with all internal teams as required (Communications, HR, IT, Office of the Partner, Creative, Digital etc.), managing on-site teams, registration staff/volunteers, logistics (transportation, F&B, accommodations), and overall technical production of the event including technical floorplans and run of shows.
  • Recommend and implement the latest technologies and digital tools.
  • Ability to act as an advisor to your internal clients and as a project manager, tracking deadlines for multiple
  • What you bring to this role:
  • 6 to 8+ years' experience in meeting/event planning in a corporate environment
  • University degree in hospitality, marketing, project management or equivalent experience
  • CMP certificate is preferred
  • Strong relationship management skills, exceptional organization and project management skills.
  • Ability to work on numerous tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced, demanding, deadline-driven environment
