The opportunity

The Director, Advice Marketing - Strategic Initiatives plays a pivotal leadership role responsible for leading and supporting strategic initiatives related to business transformation, brand and marketing strategy, marketing operational efficiency, digital strategy, governance and content strategy to drive advisor/client value and accelerate growth. This individual will play a critical role in shaping the overall marketing strategy, identifying opportunities for growth and innovation, and ensuring alignment with organizational and business goals and objectives.

Reporting to the Head of Advice Marketing, this role is integral to the ongoing development and management of marketing initiatives to support the Manulife Wealth Management Advice businesses in Canada.

Responsibilities

  • Support the development of the annual marketing strategy and planning process
  • Lead marketing strategy and project planning efforts supporting business strategic initiatives that drive growth, brand awareness and advisor engagement
  • Develop and oversee integrated marketing campaigns that generate demonstrable results
  • Leverage all media creatively and effectively to drive business results, including email marketing, A/B testing, social influence, digital advertising channels and website experiences
  • Define clear objectives, metrics and KPIs to measure the success, evaluate campaign success using advanced analytics and regularly report progress to leadership
  • Drive innovation and creativity in marketing strategies, including the adoption of new technologies, channels and tactics
  • Lead cross-functional working groups including creative, compliance, editorial, digital marketing, translation and both external and internal communications
  • Lead operational processes to facilitate marketing campaigns such as compliance review, material creation, and quality improvement so they are delivered accurately, on time and within budget
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and accountability within the Advice marketing team
  • Demonstrate and reinforce our Values (Think Big, Own It, Get It Done Together, Share Your Humanity, Customer Obsession and Do the Right Thing), and consistently set an example for the marketing team

What are we looking for:

  • 8+ years of marketing experience preferably in wealth management industry or related field
  • University graduate (advanced degree or certification a plus) in marketing and/or business administration or related filed
  • Strategic problem solver with a forward-thinking approach and passion for the wealth management business
  • Deep knowledge of the full-service brokerage industry, investment advisor practices, and regulatory environment.
  • Proven track record of success in developing marketing strategies that drive business results
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams!
  • Excellent analytical skills with ability to translate data into actionable insights
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization
  • Excellent organization, prioritization, analytic (data-driven) and presentation skills
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced dynamic environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously with minimal supervision

Salary & Benefits

The annual base salary for this role is listed below.

Primary Location

Toronto, Ontario

Salary range is expected to be between

$103,050.00 CAD - $185,490.00 CAD

The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training. Employees also have the opportunity to participate in incentive programs and earn incentive compensation tied to business and individual performance.
