POSITION TITLE: Marketing Director AEO Canada

REPORTS TO: Country Manager, Canada

DOTTED LINE REPORTS TO: Aerie and AE Chief Marketing Officers (in the US)

STATUS: Full Time

POSITION SUMMARY:

As the Marketing lead for AEO in Canada, you are ultimately responsible for taking our brand strategies for AE and Aerie and mapping them to Canadians in the most effective way. You will be an expert on the customer in Canada and fully understand the most effective elements of the Marketing mix. You will work closely with the rest of the Canada Senior Leadership Team (SLT) to align on the seasonal priorities and work with your US colleagues to ensure our budgets are being spent in the most effective areas. You will own the Canadian Marketing budget and will also work with the US team on understanding the halo effect of the activity in the US. Most of all, you will represent our Company values and bring your REAL self to work every day.

DOTTED LINE MANAGER RELATIONSHIP:

Your regular reporting line will be to the Country Manager Canada, and you will be connected to the US organization through a dotted line. Your dotted line manager's responsibility will be to ensure you receive functional support and training, and to include you on all relevant communications and milestones to set you up for success in your role. Your dotted line managers will work with your manager on setting objectives and reviewing performance on a monthly basis.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for the Canadian Marketing budget for AE and Aerie, ensuring we are telling the brand stories as envisaged by the brand teams in the US
  • Work with the US Marketing teams to ensure optimal spend of Performance Marketing budget
  • Establish and exceed Canada e-Comm targets for conversion, new customer growth and loyalty
  • Gain an in-depth fact based understanding of our customer in Canada through internal and external research
  • Work closely with the loyalty team to ensure the approach in Canada is optimized
  • Find trends in data and turn your insight in to action
  • Play an active and collaborative role in the Canada SLT, helping to develop the strategic plan on an ongoing basis
  • Agree Seasonal brand priorities and communicate this effectively to internal stakeholders to ensure a clear focus from all sides of the business
  • Fully understand Aerie and AE Global brand strategy, and consistently keep Canada SLT informed on current performance vs strategy
  • Work with a local agency as required
  • Create simple effective deviations from the US approach only in cases where the return will outweigh the cost ($ and complexity)
  • Create recommendation of future resource requirements after a period of assessing workload and proposing structure

  • Understand and adhere to all Company policies and procedures located in the AEO Associate Handbook
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree, 5-10 years background in Brand Marketing preferably within footwear & clothing
  • Canadian experience preferred
  • Familiarity with managing a full marketing budget and determining mix
  • Demonstrated collaborative skills and ability to work well within a team
  • Proven history of working with senior leaders to achieve your goals

LOCATION/TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Remote, with an ability to travel to Canadian provinces, New York and Pittsburgh as required
  • Must be able to make in-person critical milestones
