Your role and responsibilities

As a member of our Product team, you will be helping to bring quantum computing-a cutting-edge society-transforming technology-to the world. Focusing primarily on our open-source software PennyLane, your expertise will help Xanadu increase public awareness of quantum computing, build and engage with a community of passionate scientists and developers, and expand a fun and accessible brand image.

As part of a fast-growing technology startup, candidates who can demonstrate success in this role may find further opportunities to take on additional leadership duties within Xanadu and fast-track their career growth.

In this role, you will:

  • Establish high-level strategy for product-based marketing campaigns for a specialized technical audience
  • Translate positioning and objectives from Xanadu's product, development, and research teams into successful campaigns
  • Coordinate all aspects of marketing campaigns: timing, positioning, channels, briefs, content creation, insights, and evaluation
  • Develop campaigns for multiple channels, based on product objectives and audience. This includes both large-scale (social media, search ads) and targeted (direct networking, conferences) channels
  • Coordinate successful campaign execution involving multiple stakeholders, content creators, and development teams
  • Plan marketing initiatives for in-person and online events
  • Collect data and insights and communicate back to Xanadu's product and content teams and inform future campaigns
  • Participate actively in the marketing content development process (ideation, writing copy, working with graphic designers for visuals, review, etc.)
  • Evaluate marketing content produced by others, and provide recommendations to enhance success
  • Promote Xanadu's broad scientific and business activities through press releases, social media posts, company newsletters, and posts on public-facing messaging forums (e.g., Slack, Discord)
  • Manage Xanadu's social media accounts on Twitter/X and LinkedIn

Basic qualifications and experience

  • Undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., Business, English, Psychology, Science)
  • 3+ years experience with product marketing
  • 2+ years experience creating engaging content on social media
  • Confident communicating technical concepts to large audiences
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Sharp attention to detail
  • Clever and engaging outward communication style

Preferred Qualifications and experience

  • Graduate degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., Business, English, Psychology, Science)
  • 2+ years experience with product marketing in the fields of science, education, or software
  • 1+ years experience marketing an open-source software product
  • 1+ years experience with search engine marketing (paid and organic)
  • Basic familiarity with tools and methodologies used by other teams and stakeholders (e.g., GitHub, Figma, Canva, Agile Development)
