Reporting to the Chief Innovation Officer, the Senior Innovation Manager plays a critical role in the development and smooth operation of Volta's technology platform and startup support model.

This full-time, hybrid, Halifax based position will be responsible for pathfinding and screening new startup applications, guiding them through initial data and evidence collection to ensure their readiness for coaching and residency. Additionally, the role involves enhancing operational efficiency and user experience, focusing specifically on technology improvements, ongoing development, and day-to-day bug fixes to ensure optimal uptime for all stakeholders. This is a product management role where user feedback from our coaches, advisors, and founders is critical in driving the execution of ongoing improvements, all aligned with Volta's overall product vision.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Startup Pathfinding & Screening: Conduct initial screening and interviews of potential startups, guiding them through the pathfinding process, including onboarding and initial data and evidence collection, ensuring their readiness for coaching and residency.
  • Technology Improvement & Development: Lead the ongoing refinement and development of Volta's technology platform, focusing on operational efficiency, user experience, and bug fixes to ensure optimal uptime for all stakeholders.
  • User Feedback Integration: Actively gather and integrate feedback from coaches, advisors, and founders to drive continuous improvement and alignment with Volta's product vision.
  • Collaboration & Support: Work closely with the CEO and CINO to support the strategic objectives of Volta, ensuring seamless execution and alignment with the overall goals of the organization.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience in startup environments and product management, with a preference for those who have led product development.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in the startup sector, ideally as a founder or in a leadership role, with a track record of growth and success.
  • Skilled in running market-driven experiments and leveraging data for early-stage technology startups.
  • Experience in coaching or mentoring within a startup ecosystem is highly valued.
  • Exceptional analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in tools such as Asana, Excel, ChatGPT, and Airtable is desirable.
  • Excellent communicator with the ability to thrive in a dynamic, collaborative environment.
