Are you an innovative product marketer who loves driving customer demand and engagement.

As Telesat's Product Marketing Manager, you will play an important, key role in articulating our product strategy, value proposition and differentiated messaging to drive success in marketing and sales activities. In this role, you'll uncover market insights and proof points that resonate with our telecom, aviation and maritime B2B buyers to enable the success of our sales channels. Your understanding of our competitors and their offerings will ensure that our unique value proposition is the foundation of marketing communications campaigns that drive quality sales leads and pipeline.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Based on Telesat's strategic growth initiatives potential of each vertical market, help build, mentor and grow the product marketing team that can achieve global results
  • In collaboration with product management and marketing communications, define differentiated product positioning that resonates with our target buyer personas, with associated proof points.
  • Develop relationships with our sales teams; understand and document our buyer's evaluation process, information sources, and the value drivers that resonate with each target audience. Share learnings across the sales and marketing teams to drive increased effectiveness in marketing and sales communication approaches.
  • Communicate the vision and value of Telesat Lightspeed services with our sales channels; uncover challenges and roadblocks our sales channels face and develop sales tools to overcome challenges and educate/teach them how to leverage the assets created.
  • In partnership with the Director of Marketing and Communications, contribute the annual marketing plan for each vertical market, key activities and budget allocation that supports Telesat's growth and market share goals. Based on KPIs for campaign performance, provide recommendations for improving messaging and lead generation
  • Develop compelling customer-facing sales presentations and collateral storylines and collaborate with Marketing Communications to deliver professional materials that are aligned with brand standards.
  • Utilize data and insights to grown customer engagement and conversations through effective campaigns and information.
  • Support external relationships with journalists, industry analysts, and investors when requested.
  • Additional projects as needed to meet strategic goals.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED :

  • 8+ years B2B product marketing experience with proven success in positioning differentiated B2B products with successful outcomes. Satellite industry or telecommunications background strongly preferred.
  • Power user of Microsoft Office applications (PowerPoint, Word, Excel)
  • Experience in using collaboration and CRM tools; Salesforce.com experience a plus
  • Strong public speaking skills and comfortable in front of large internal audiences as well as executive-level external audiences when required
  • Exceptional writing skills
  • Bachelor's Degree in business or marketing; MBA a plus
  • Training in insight and value-selling messaging methodologies a plus
  • Team building and management experience preferred.
  • Travel as needed, less than 20% expected.
