Reporting to our Senior Manager, Talent Acquisition, this individual will support in implementing the recruitment strategy, determining the right selection criteria and process for our high-volume hiring needs in our retail division.

Using a consultative approach, you will work with our retail leaders to understand their business and hiring needs, while guiding them through LCBO's end-to-end recruitment process. If you're known for being resourceful and persistent in seeking out the best talent using proven candidate sourcing strategies, are forward-thinking, responsive to change, and energized by recruiting for talent in a fast-paced, retail environment, then this role is for you.

About the Role

  • Identify and utilize cost effective, efficient, proactive, and innovative sourcing solutions to attract top talent, with a focus on the department's core functions.
  • Build job postings and interview questions that reflect each position's requirements.
  • Conduct targeted searches to source and identify passive candidates.
  • Assess candidate information, skills and proven experience using our Applicant Tracking System (Workday).
  • Plan interview and selection procedures, both internal and external, including the use of interview guides.
  • Compliant with recruitment processes for bargaining roles as per our Collective Agreement.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of recruitment practices and resources by supporting projects and initiatives.
  • Develop questions for interviews that identify candidates with skills and qualifications who exemplify the LCBO's competencies and values.
  • Ensure recruitment activity is updated on a regular basis in the applicant tracking system, reporting on hiring metrics, trends, successes and challenges.
  • Reinforce the LCBO's dedication to providing fair and equitable recruitment and selection practices and support compliance with all hiring policies, practices, and the LCBO's values.

About You

  • Post-secondary education in HR, business, or related experience.
  • 2-3 years of recruitment experience supporting various business units.
  • Strong understanding of, and experience with, effective sourcing, recruitment techniques and methods; effective at identifying and sourcing passive candidates, and strong in direct sourcing.
  • Demonstrate positive attitude and passion for recruitment and the retail industry.
  • Recruitment experience within a unionized environment is an asset.
  • Intellectual curiosity and critical thinking skills, with the ability to quickly navigate complex business functions.
  • Experience working with an applicant tracking system (ATS) and proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Create collaborative relationships with diverse personalities and work styles, influence key stakeholders, and gain consensus to achieve goals.
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft engaging job postings, concisely document recommendations, and ask questions in a tactful and diplomatic way.
  • Enjoy taking initiative; highly self-directed and solution-oriented, with a high sense of urgency to deliver results and meet business deadlines.
  • Adaptable and are always looking for new, innovative ways to work.
  • Proficient at prioritizing work, with excellent organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Passion for learning, growing, and developing, and sharing knowledge.
