As our Associate Director, Marketing & Digital Communications, you are the mastermind behind our digital transformation! You'll lead the charge in revitalizing and managing our university's website and digital assets. You won't just be a member of the web senior governance committee?you'll be a driving force, shaping an integrated, institution-wide web and digital presence that dazzles and delights.

Your top priority? Continual evolution. You'll spearhead the ongoing redevelopment of our website with a focus on marketing, student recruitment, and community engagement. Your mission? To supercharge our enrollment efforts and forge lasting connections with our alumni and donors.

Your creativity knows no bounds. From crafting captivating social media content to dreaming up innovative marketing campaigns, you'll be the maestro of our institutional brand. And when it comes to website functionality, you'll ensure our digital domain is not just mobile-friendly and search engine optimized, but also fully accessible?setting the standard for excellence in Canadian higher education. You'll be the lead marketer for our institution, with a hand in everything from budget management to creative content development. And as you guide our website and digital assets into the future, you'll be at the forefront of shaping the University of Regina's legacy for years to come.

What You'll Do:

  • Lead Website Redevelopment: Drive the (re)development of our university website, aligning it with institutional strategies such as our enrollment strategy. You'll be the driving force behind ensuring our digital presence reflects our institutional goals.
  • Strategic Communications Expertise: Provide ongoing strategic communication guidance to campus stakeholders regarding institutional web development. Your expertise will shape our messaging and ensure effective communication channels.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with vendors, internal clients, and stakeholders to conduct needs assessments and define the strategy, content, and features for website redesign. Your insights will drive the evolution of our digital platforms.
  • Technical Infrastructure Development: Work closely with vendors and internal clients to develop web page infrastructure and assess new technologies. Your technical prowess will ensure our digital tools meet the evolving needs of our university community.
  • Project Management: Manage the entire website development process, from design to maintenance. You'll establish project schedules and reporting structures to keep stakeholders engaged and ensure expectations are met.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Consult with campus Site Owners to establish relationships and communications, advancing the strategic use of our institutional website across academic and administrative units.
  • Problem Solving: Identify complex problems, troubleshoot, and provide solutions in coordination with other units and stakeholders. Your problem-solving skills will keep our digital platforms running smoothly.
  • Financial Management: Manage financial resources for website redevelopment and digital tools, supporting enhanced recruitment efforts. Your fiscal stewardship will ensure optimal utilization of resources.
  • Marketing Strategy Implementation: Implement institutional marketing and communication strategies for our website, digital tools, and intranet. Your efforts will enhance student recruitment, community engagement, and overall reputation building.
  • Data Analysis: Lead web-based data analysis to drive marketing, recruitment, and fundraising strategies. Your insights will shape our strategic direction.
  • Emergency Management: Prioritize functionality and content creation related to emergency/crisis management. Your preparedness will ensure our digital platforms are ready for any situation.
  • Compliance and Security: Ensure compliance with legal requirements and university policies on website usage, security, and standards. Your diligence will safeguard our intellectual properties and personal data.
  • Guideline Development: Work with stakeholders to establish and enforce design and site guidelines, maintaining the integrity of our website's navigational structure.
  • Team Management: Develop and manage a team responsible for marketing, social media, project management, website analysis, and maintenance. Your leadership will foster a culture of innovation and excellence.
  • Continuous Learning: Stay current with web communication technologies and marketing trends through formal and informal training. Your commitment to learning will keep us ahead of the curve.

Position Requirements

What You'll Bring to the Position:

  • University Degree in Business, Communications or related field is required. A graduate degree is preferred;
  • Seven (7) to ten (10) years' progressive experience.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Skills That Will Ensure Your Success in this Role:

  • Exceptional knowledge of marketing, sales, and website development processes;
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking skills;
  • Ability to develop strong relationships and work with senior-level executives;
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including documentation;
  • Technical and specialized knowledge; and,
  • Experience managing large-scale projects, including human resource and financial management.
  • Must be able to apply sound strategic communications principles to ensure the University's goals are supported and achieved, and the institutional reputation is maintained and enhanced through the development, selection and presentation of web content, images and tools. As well, content decisions can support issue and risk management and mitigation;
  • Must have knowledge of online sales/systems (website applications that may relate to sales, recruitment, fundraising, etc.); and, digital marketing (search engine optimization, data analytics, etc.);
  • Knowledge of social media platforms, tools and their application to strategic communication and digital marketing goals;
  • Knowledge related to best practices in website technology, including UX (user experience) and mobile functionality; specialized knowledge in the areas of digital accessibility, data analytics, etc;
  • Working knowledge technical infrastructure and development processes (eg: navigation concepts, CMS tools, etc.);
  • Familiarity with legislation governing copyright, freedom of information, privacy, and legal issues such as libel, which govern or may influence content decisions or image presentation on the website;
  • This position requires knowledge of the conceptual framework for project management, accompanied by practical knowledge of how to monitor and adjust project progress to align with time and budget targets;
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking skills are required;
  • Effective client and stakeholder (internal and external) relationship management, communication, problem solving and solutions development; and,
  • Requires the ability to effectively lead, motivate and support staff and to clearly articulate goals and expectations.
  • Physical Demands Pay Grade APT 8 Salary Range $84,016 - $113,384 annually Status Permanent Work Hours

Monday - Friday, 8:15 - 4:30.

Occasionally, there will be work required outside of these hours.
