• 3+ years of engineering team management experience

As a Software Development Manager (SDM) on our team, you will lead an engineering team that designs and delivers innovative features that will change how we source and recruit future Amazonians. We are looking for a highly motivated, top notch leader with both business and technical acumen. This role requires deep technical expertise, excellent leadership skills, and strong business judgment. You will define the vision and technical roadmap, while satisfying scalability, reliability and performance goals. You will be responsible for deploying services globally, delivering an exceptional customer experience, providing thought leadership in a fast-paced development environment, and partnering with product management and senior leaders to ensure the success of this program, while solving broad industry challenges.

Key job responsibilities

  • Recruit and develop top talent to achieve the team's objectives. - Establish and steer the team's long-term vision. - Manage resource allocation to meet both business objectives and career development targets. - Participate in strategic planning to achieve technical and business goals. - Collaborate closely with engineers to design and implement optimal technical designs and strategies. - Ensure project timelines are met, prioritizing tasks and managing team workload effectively. - Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the team. - Maintain close collaboration with cross-functional teams to align software development with overall company goals. - Monitor and ensure adherence to quality standards and best practices in software development. - Provide regular performance feedback and career development guidance to team members.

The base salary for this position ranges from $171,400/year up to $286,200/year. Salary is based on a number of factors and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
