Communication Service Coordinator

Contract - Canada Summer Job

Better Living Health and Community Services has an opening for the position of Communication Service Coordinator. The successful candidate will collaborate with various departments to provide essential service and support, contributing to the organization's communication efforts.

This positions reports to: Manager of Communications

The successful candidate for this position must have the following qualifications:

  • Proficient in the use of computers, including the Microsoft Office suite
  • Ability to work independently with access to regular supervision.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Proficiency in social media management.
  • Successful completion of Vulnerable Sector Screening within one month of employment.

The successful candidate for this position must be able to:

  • Strong organizational, prioritization, and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a high-volume team environment.
  • Proficiency in office administration and computer skills.
  • Operational Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with Communications team to provide service and support to all departments.
  • Develop and publish content for social media and websites, including basic graphic design tasks (posters, brochures, etc.).
  • Assist in content proofing and other support tasks for the communications team.
  • Work closely with the communications team on daily projects supporting various departments.
  • Manage content creation and publication across organization's social channels and websites, and assist in planning communication strategies and outreach activities.
  • Prepare presentations and other communication materials, design basic collateral using graphic design software, and fulfill other duties as required.

To be eligible to participate in Canada Summer Jobs, Candidates Must:

  • Be between 15 and 30 years of age (inclusive) at the start of employment;
  • Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigrant and Refugee Protection Act* and;
  • Have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.

SALARY: $17.55 / hour

Note: This position is funded for 35 hours in total. Hours of work and duration of position will be determined based on the needs of the department
