We are looking for a talented individual to join our team in the position of Digital Marketing Reporting & Insights Senior Analyst. The primary responsibility is to leverage customer data from digital and non digital sources to deliver recommendations to the digital marketing team to support acquisition campaign reporting and analysis needs of the P&BB digital marketing team for all products and LOBs (paid search, natural search, display, social, affiliates):

  • Perform data extraction/preparation, deliver reporting and fulfilment of daily, weekly and monthly placement dashboards to the digital marketing team. Provide ongoing enhancements based on team feedback.
  • Conduct deep dive analysis across multiple marketing programs such as paid search, natural search, display, social, affiliates, leveraging data from multiple sources
  • Perform analytics and trends on digital advertising tactics, audiences, partners, and creative, to optimize decision making for the business
  • Complete the migration of reporting to Google Cloud/ Big Query and Google Analytics

The role will sit within the Advanced Analytics & Data Science Team in Marketing Analytics team and support Marketing with proactive, actionable insights for both Retail and Wealth customers. The successful candidate will be able to go beyond analytics/reporting to provide actionable insights and will be involved in all stages of projects from intake, prioritization, tracking, and presentations to stakeholders and senior executives.


Analytic Capabilities & Critical Thinking

  • Internalize and understand the larger context of customer data elements and leverage a strong awareness of how customer and account attributes intersect.
  • Supports data collection, integration, and retention requirements for both data and customers
  • Analyze large, complex datasets (from multiple sources both structured and unstructured) to drive insights and recommendations.
  • Understand business KPIs, and relevant drivers and factors that can help reach business objectives.
  • Works with marketing and business partners to design, develop, and implement analytics/machine learning solutions that drive measurable marketing outcomes and create a distinctive customer experience
  • Leverage customer and digital data to develop analytical self-service tools and strategic insights to help our marketing partners understand their customer behaviours to provide personalized offers
  • Applies innovative and best practices to advanced analytics services to ensure high quality standards.

Leadership and Relationship Management

  • Determines the best approach for eliciting, analyzing, validating, and prioritizing requests to ensure that the necessary information is captured from the relevant stakeholders to address the business needs
  • Ensure effective project tracking and status reporting using Workfront project management software
  • Ensures effective communication with all necessary stakeholders, presents results to executives
  • The individual will have an end-to-end project accountability beginning with understanding the business KPIs. They will leverage their expertise to go beyond the request to address the business problem, and be able to explain technical results to a non technical audience and related them to business KPIs
  • Provide thought leadership on how analytics can help resolve business opportunities

This job requires the incumbent to interact with the following groups and/or processes in BMO FG and relevant external stakeholders: Managers and Senior Managers within Marketing and in lines of Business, Technology and Operations



  • BS/BA in Commerce, Finance, Statistics, Quantitative methods, Math, Computer Science, Marketing, or similar.
  • 2+ years of applicable experience.
  • Strong foundation in data and analysis.
  • Ability to pull data from multiple sources and formulate comprehensive and actionable reports
  • Strong analytic and pattern recognition to connect causal factors and form hypotheses.


  • Strong experience with Google Analytics, Google Campaign Manager, Big Query
  • Strong Experience with customer database and programming queries in SAS or SQL (Python, R, Hadoop experience an asset)
  • Experience in data visualization preferred, including visualization software such as Power BI, Spotfire or Tableau.
  • Influential skills sufficient to resolve situations where others need to be convinced of the value of preferred options or alternatives
  • Well-developed presentation / analytical skills sufficient to:
  • Provide detailed explanation and interpretation of factual and conceptual information and ideas
  • Creatively and precisely articulate ideas that involve interpretation, analysis and assessment

  • Project planning and management skills sufficient to establish, prioritize and coordinate objectives for a variety of non-routine assignments or projects

Consults on analytical solutions to understand, analyze, and synthesize requirements, goals and objectives relative to data and business intelligence needs and to enable high-quality, fact-based business decisions to drive better business outcomes. Provides advice on the configuration, functionality, applicability, and usability of data management, data analytics, and data visualization technology solutions. Supports the development of the strategy and roadmap for data quality and data analytics, data modeling, reporting, business intelligence, and the design and development of sophisticated decision support tools.

  • Builds effective relationships with internal/external stakeholders.
  • Leads/participates in the design, implementation and management of new analytics & reporting solutions.
  • Designs, develops, and implements innovative analytical solutions.
  • Designs and produces regular and ad-hoc reports, and dashboards.
  • Breaks down strategic problems, and analyses data and information to provide subject matter insights and recommendations.
  • Structures and assembles data into multi-dimensions with various granularities (e.g., demographics, customers, products, transactions).
  • Monitors and tracks tool performance, user acceptance testing, and addresses any issues.
  • Integrates information from multiple sources to enable more efficient processes, enhanced analysis and/or streamlined reporting.
  • Designs, develops, and implements innovative analytical solutions.
  • Designs and produces regular and ad-hoc reports, and dashboards.
  • Builds reports and visualizations to effectively communicate data driven insights to users for a variety of audiences e.g. visualization solutions of data into reports, graphics, dashboards to illustrate facts, trends, and insights.
  • Develops solutions and makes recommendations based on an understanding of the business strategy and stakeholder needs.
  • Supports development and execution of strategic analytics & reporting initiatives in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Analyzes data and information to provide subject-matter insights and recommendations.
  • Develops tools and delivers training programs for use of reporting tools and self-serve analytics by non-analytical end users; may include delivery of training to audiences.
  • Documents and maintain operational procedures and processes relating to analytical and reporting processes.
  • Builds effective relationships with internal/external stakeholders.
  • Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders in order to deliver on business objectives.
  • Focus is primarily on business/group within BMO; may have broader, enterprise-wide focus.

Qualifications :

  • Typically between 4
  • 6 years of relevant experience and post-secondary degree in related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge and experience in data preparation, data analysis, and statistical tool sets including but not limited to Spotfire, Tableau, SQL, SAS, R, Python, MATLAB, SPSS
  • Very good.
