KPMG has an opening for an Email Marketing Specialist to be part of KPMG in Canada's National Marketing & Communications team. The Email Marketing Specialist will be responsible for day to day activities and processes, designing and deploying email marketing campaigns for the firm. This is a hands-on role working in a fast paced environment and results driven team.


  • Designs, supports and executes various types of marketing campaigns through strategic email marketing programs and provides value-added advice to ensure clients meet business and Marketing objectives
  • Managing and executing email marketing initiatives and the tactical execution of email deployment in a timely and accurate manner
  • Uses the firm's marketing automation platforms to build program templates which are easily customizable and scaled, improve processes and leverage the tools to their full extent
  • Champions the effective use of CRM, including playing a support role in assisting users to enhance the quality of data in the system
  • Liaising with the Email Service Providers, understanding their technology offering and enabling business partners to fully leverage the platform
  • Aids in the provision of key reporting for marketing campaigns. Provide ongoing analysis to aid in the constant improvement of campaign efforts
  • Performs day to day maintenance and troubleshooting of SAP CRM, ExactTarget, Cvent and internal portal platforms
  • Drives improvement, best practices and trends with respect to marketing automation, email marketing and campaign management
  • Develop thorough knowledge of KPMG, its lines of business and service areas in order to enhance the client experience
  • Responsible for and adherence to all privacy and legal requirements (i.e. CASL), ensuring subscriptions, permissions are seamless for all clients
  • Support other team members on ad hoc projects or special projects


  • Minimum of two years of experience in email marketing, marketing automation, automated marketing program design
  • Experience with CRM and email marketing platforms (ExactTarget (Salesforce Marketing Cloud), Cvent, SAP CRM)
  • Working knowledge of HTML
  • Technically savvy, someone who can operationally and strategically align campaign objectives with execution
  • Excellent verbal and written skills
  • Strong people skills, client service and team orientation, with ability to interact with clients at all levels of the firm
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong understanding of the customer/client journey and leading practices of email marketing campaigns to enhance, improve the client experience and journey and generate leads
  • Thorough understanding of email marketing best practices, execution and strategy
  • Ability to think logically and analytically towards solving complex problems
  • Self-motivated with an autonomous work ethic
  • Able to interact confidently with senior professionals
  • Ability to thrive in fast paced environment with rapidly changing priorities and work calmly in pressurized situations
  • Understanding of CASL and other data privacy legislations
  • Experience working with a virtual team located in both Canada and India would be an asset
