Working collaboratively as part of the Scotts Canada Marketing Team, the Digital Marketing Specialist will be the executional lead on digital, web and social media projects across all consumer, customer and brand facing initiatives. You will assist in the development of digital MARCOM strategies intended to drive market leadership, innovation and growth. You have a broad base of digital marketing experience with leading CPG brands and are a high energy team player with an insatiable curiosity to know more.


  • Executional lead on all consumer, customer and brand facing digital initiatives within the marketing department, gathering and communicating requirements, feedback and changes
  • Working with creative and media agencies to coordinate creative direction, user interface design and analytics.
  • Leading the execution of all web site redesigns and updates working with brand managers, external agencies and internal US digital teams
  • Familiarity with content management systems and updating as required
  • Working with agencies and internal stakeholders to develop content calendars and appropriate content for applicable social channels including: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, YouTube
  • Primary liaison with SEO agency, managing paid and earned programs, assisting in the development of content, metrics and providing recommendations as result of monthly review meetings
  • Develop, manage and maintain digital assets library
  • Develop and maintain perfect sku copy for both company and customer websites
  • Collaborating with Shopper Marketing Manager to develop and maintain product pages to be used on customer web and ecommerce sites, product, educational and lifestyle content
  • Tracking projects, including conducting reviews and audits to ensure content is still correct and relevant
  • Monitoring competitive activities and providing feedback and insights
  • Assist in the development and execution of our ecommerce strategy and go forward business support needs
  • Stay up to date on current best practices, trends and technology for digital marketing and make recommendations to drive efficiencies, improvement and innovation
  • Collaborate with the marketing brand team as well as with US Digital and Ecommerce teams, leveraging learnings, strategies and assets to achieve marketing and business objectives


  • University education in Marketing, Commerce, Business or related experience.
  • 2+ years of proven work experience as a digital marketing specialist / project manager on a category-leading consumer brand/e-commerce brand or through a body of work from a nationally-recognized digital agency
  • Excellent collaboration, presentation, written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to effectively manage relationships with third-party partners, external agencies, and US counterparts
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills, high attention to detail
  • Creative eye with an aptitude for copy development and design
  • Well organized combined with strong project management skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple demands and tight deadlines
  • Bilingual (English/French) would be an asset
