Job Description :

3M is seeking a Marketing Communications Supervisor for its Construction & Home Improvement Division, located in London, ON (candidate can work remotely, within the London-GTA corridor). The successful candidate will be responsible for the marketing communications strategy and execution of all Construction & Home Improvement Brands; Command®, Scotch® Painter's Tape, Filtrete?, Meguiar's® and 3M® Safety. This role will work closely with external agency partners as well as counterparts in the US to build and execute plans. The candidate will be responsible for campaign management and driving brand growth in each category.

Required Skills & Abilities:

  • Passion for advertising, brand, marketing, digital and communications
  • Strategic thinking, planning and prioritization competencies with an ability to quickly consolidate information into actionable responses
  • Experience establishing and maintaining cross-functional relationships (marketing and agency partners)
  • Proven communication (verbal and written) skills, highly organized and detail oriented

Primary Responsibilities


  • Be the single point of contact for all Marketing Communications campaigns between the agency partners and marketers
  • Support the ideation, planning and briefing of campaigns, ensuring an integrated deployment into market
  • Coordinate and optimize assets with the US Marketing Communications teams to ensure North American alignment
  • Develop campaign strategies with the appropriate executional elements: budgeting, media buying, digital, social, TV, print, out of home, radio, experiential and direct marketing
  • Provide strategic recommendations throughout the campaign development process to internal teams and agency partners
  • Co-ordinate with all the various Marketing and cross-functional teams to create Customer-focused marketing campaigns


  • Develop, execute, and manage social and digital media strategy that raises awareness of Consumer products, builds a loyal and engaged community, increases web traffic, and ultimately drives sales
  • Create, develop, and manage the content for web and social media presence including all brands, products, and services
  • Provide strategic recommendations for paid media support as well as earned/organic and manage agencies to ensure timelines are met for production and media campaigns
  • Manage and maintain a consistent look, feel, and messaging throughout all web and social media properties
  • Manage, report, and recommend improvements for brand websites
  • Continuously optimize efforts by setting benchmarks and analyzing data for social and digital platforms


  • Develop communication plans, tactics and key messages to align to sales and marketing objectives.
  • Research, write/edit and develop innovative and impactful communications materials
  • Work collaboratively with various teams to gather info and content and share across all team members

Basic Qualifications :

  • Post-secondary education from an accredited institution
  • Experience building and executing marketing campaigns
  • Competitive and driven, with desire for personal growth and development
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong proficiency in PowerPoint & Excel

Preferred Qualifications :

  • University degree in Marketing
  • 3-4 years of experience in a related function
  • The ability to collaborate and build strong relationships at all levels of the organization in Canada, and within the U.S. and Global teams

Travel: In this role, you will be required to travel approximately 10% of the time, which may involve overnight stays. A valid driver's license is required.
