  • With your exceptional proven outcomes of success and marketing expertise on a global scale; grow an amazing team
  • Execute with a ?hands-on? approach- we have built a great business and are focused on accelerating growth and moving into new markets. We need someone who can roll up their sleeves and help the team scale our approaches and results as we strive to $1B in revenue.
  • Develop clear insights and learn quickly what is working and not working on all the marketing activities
  • continuously using analytics to adapt, learn, and grow faster
  • Nurture opportunities and help execute the steps it takes a prospect to go from understanding they need to transform their learning experiences, to actually selecting D2L as a partner, and then building a lasting lifetime relationship with the company
  • Represent D2L's voice in the markets we serve
  • from customers, prospects, analysts, and trends. Develop go-to-market strategies and resources to help us open up new geographies and industries
  • Be a brand champion and help build a consistent and well-integrated overall experience
  • from social to web to experiences at our events and with our company.
  • Be a force multiplier to help us build a compelling value proposition, differentiation, packaging, and everything else it takes to build a global leader
  • Continue to strengthen the thought leadership at D2L

At a high level:

  • The Chief Marketing Officer at D2L is responsible for driving all product marketing strategies; mapping the right language that will resonate with the right audience as well as execution for this fast-growing leader in the digital learning space
  • Additionally, the Chief Marketing Officer will partner closely with the Sales and Product organizations on demand generation and funnel-to-close approaches and execution
  • Direct areas of responsibility include brand awareness, corporate and product messaging, PR/AR and, web marketing, customer marketing, corporate events, demand marketing, alliance marketing, competitive and market intelligence, solutions marketing, business strategy and planning
  • Accountability for overall effectiveness of demand marketing programs for the company
  • Participation in D2L board meetings with responsibility for leading board level discussions on marketing strategy, metrics and operations.
  • Key spokesperson for the company with customers, press, analysts, partners, investors
  • Build and lead a world-class integrated marketing organization by hiring and retaining top talent.
  • Build easily measurable, repeatable processes into the marketing organization
  • Bring up key international markets and make sure the company executes a solid international plan
  • Dominate the competition.

What you'll bring to the role:

The candidate will have a strong foundation in product marketing in the enterprise space with a proven record of strong partnership with field sales organizations. Additionally, the ideal candidate will bring the following:

  • Extensive understanding of go-to-market strategies, ideally with a broad range of customer types and geographies
  • Proven success in creating great brands, driving revenue success and leading business transformation
  • Outstanding communications skills with ability to communicate highly complex ideas and concepts with simplicity, power and emotional impact
  • Superior soft skills and emotional intelligence enabling you to get the very best out of all those with whom you interact
  • Breadth of experience spanning both enterprise and consumer space, preferably across both private and public companies
  • Solid grasp of best in class demand generation principles including proven success driving demand in a B2B software company
  • Experience driving an integrated marketing philosophy across a global marketing organization
  • Goal oriented and passionate; wants to succeed and help D2L become a $1B+ company
  • Unquestionable integrity, decision making skills, and creativity
  • A competitive nature with an unrelenting will to win
  • Experience working as part of a globally dispersed leadership team
