The Ideal Candidate will have experience in the following:

  • RF Testing of transceivers
  • Antenna diagnostics, modulation, channel bandwidths and signal levels
  • Install, maintain, and tune antenna multi-coupler systems, duplexers and transmit combiners
  • Reading and understanding of engineering drawings/documents
  • Programing conventional and trunking mobile, portable, and repeater radio equipment from multiple manufacturers
  • Install, maintain, and repair MOTOROLA & KENWOOD Trunked Radio Systems, Conventional Radio Systems
  • Network cable testing, duplex operation, spectrum analysis, use of return loss bridge
  • Multicoupler/Combiner tuning
  • Cable management
  • Diagnostics
  • R56 Grounding
  • Dispatch Consoles (Wired and IP)
  • Detailed report documentation (site survey, etc.)
  • Experience with P25 Systems and related AFRRCS in Alberta a definite asset


  • 2+ years' experience in RF Service industry
  • Diploma in Electronics Engineering Technology or Wireless Systems Engineering Technology or a Certificate as a Communication Technician is required.
  • A combination of related education and work experience will be considered

Must Haves:

  • Valid Alberta Class 5 Operator's License with a clean drivers abstract
  • Ability to successfully pass a pre-access drug and alcohol test and the ability to continually pass testing for access to client sites

Physical Demands

The Service Technician must be able to spend the majority of the day sitting, walking, and/or standing. They may be required to stoop, bend, kneel and squat for extended periods of time. They also may be required to carry equipment weighing up to 50lbs for short distances.
