We're The Latest Scoop, a lifestyle concept store offering a curated selection of pretty things for you and your home: fashion, home décor, accessories, furniture, stationery, giftware and much more. Canadian based and born in 2004 as a series of pop-up shops, The Latest Scoop has quickly evolved into six permanent locations in some of our favourite neighbourhoods in Vancouver and Toronto.

As we expand our operations, we are seeking to add a Marketing Manager to join our tight knit team. This position is critical in the expansion of our operation. As the central contact point for the company, this role embodies the brand and is responsible for bringing the entire consumer experience to life. We are looking for a high-energy, meticulous, data-driven professional with an entrepreneurial spirit.

Responsibilities:

  • Managing all marketing for the company and activities within the marketing department
  • Key involvement in the establishment and growth of ecommerce channel
  • Develop the marketing strategy and tactics for the company, in line with company objectives, to get the word out about our company and drive qualified traffic to our front door.
  • Unify company message and direction across all departments and in turn to our customers.
  • Working in partnership with the creative team, develop creative briefs and guide creative direction to meet objectives for all advertising and public-¬facing communications, including print, digital, and video assets.
  • Conceptualize and execute on multi-channel campaigns across the prospect and customer lifecycle, ensuring the alignment of communications and messaging across all channels
  • Deploy successful marketing campaigns and own their implementation from ideation to execution.
  • Experiment with a variety of organic and paid acquisition channels like content creation, content curation, pay per click campaigns, event management, publicity, social media, lead generation campaigns, copywriting, performance analysis.
  • Working in partnership with the creative team, develop creative briefs and guide creative direction to meet objectives for all advertising and public-¬facing communications, including print, digital, and video assets.
  • Conceptualize and execute on multi-channel campaigns across the prospect and customer lifecycle, ensuring the alignment of communications and messaging across all channels.
  • Monitor and report effectiveness of marketing campaigns.
  • Produce valuable and engaging content for our website and blog that attracts and converts our target groups.
  • Build strategic relationships and partner with key industry players, agencies and vendors.
  • Prepare and monitor the marketing budget on a quarterly and annual basis and allocate funds wisely.
  • Oversee and approve marketing material, from website banners to hard copy brochures and case studies
  • Measure and report on the performance of marketing campaigns, gain insight and assess against goals
  • Analyze consumer behavior and adjust email and advertising campaigns accordingly

Requirements:

  • Demonstrable experience in marketing together with the potential and attitude required to learn
  • Proven experience in identifying target audiences and in creatively devising and leading across channels marketing campaigns that engage, educate and motivate
  • Solid knowledge of website analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, NetInsight, Omniture, WebTrends)
  • A sense of aesthetics and a love for great copy and witty communication
  • Up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in online marketing and measurement
  • BSc/MSc degree inMarketing or related field.
