Reporting to the Provincial Director, Alberta Health Services, Provincial Seniors Health & Continuing Care (PSHCC) this position provides graphic design and design consultation services to two AHS portfolios: PSHCC and Provincial Addiction and Mental Health. This position is responsible for working collaboratively with staff to develop provincial public-facing resources such as brochures, posters, and other materials in formats including print, the web, social media, and other new emerging technology. This position also provides support to staff by designing and formatting internal documents such as reports for leaders and staff training and education resources. This position also ensures that AHS visual identity is used consistently throughout all resources. This position requires proficiency in Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and Microsoft Office as well as excellent communication skills when presenting design solutions. The incumbent must also be able to juggle multiple projects and priorities, meet tight deadlines and be highly organized to manage all artwork in a central system.


As a Graphic Designer, you will utilize your expertise and innovation in the provision, ideation, and production of web data content. You will have a keen eye for photography as well as other visual elements, coupled with the ability to use multiple programs to create, revise and edit cutting edge deliverables including video, audio, and print initiatives.

Completion of bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, or related field. Additional Required Qualifications :

Five years graphic design experience. Proficiency of design software on MAC and PC (Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and Microsoft Office). Extensive knowledge of graphic design principles including typography and photography. Extensive experience in both print production and electronic and web materials. Experience in production and knowledge of the printing industry. Excellent organizational and communication skills. Excellent project and time-management skills. Preferred Qualifications :

Experience working in the public sector environment is an asset.
