Employees of the Legislative Assembly of British Columbia (Assembly) provide professional non-partisan services to support the democratic institution of Parliament and its members through procedural advice, administrative support and information services. The Assembly is an autonomous employer, separate from the administrative framework of B.C. government ministries and agencies.

Hansard Services is seeking up to two, detail-oriented, motivated and flexible individuals for the auxiliary part-time position of Editor. Reporting to the Editorial Team Leader, the Editor is responsible for transcribing and editing the official report and related proceedings of the Legislative Assembly, conducting research using in-house resources and support, and ensuring achievement of production goals.

Applicants must have experience with professional standards and style guides, a strong command of English grammar and punctuation, superior proofreading skills, and a strong proficiency in keyboarding. Applicants must also have sound knowledge of B.C. current events, First Nations groups, public figures and geography, and be able to effectively achieve production goals in a deadline-driven environment.
