Job Title: Corporate Communications Specialist

Reporting To: Corporate Communications Lead


Corus Entertainment is a leading media and content company that develops and delivers high quality brands and content across platforms for audiences around the world. We're looking for an enthusiastic Corporate Communications Specialist to join our team to support and execute communications campaigns and activities that help build and enhance Corus' corporate reputation among key audiences, the business community, media and third-party organizations.


Contribute to the development of effective integrated communication plans and activities

Write and develop public-facing materials that communicate the company's story while underscoring key business activities and the company's strategy. Support and amplify key business activities for industry relations, diversity and inclusion, corporate social responsibility, and government relations.

Develop, update and maintain communications materials ensuring consistency of messaging and branding across Corus' website


Manage Corus' corporate social media channels (LinkedIn & Twitter) including content development, engagement and reporting.

Support development of key messages and briefing materials for events, speaking engagements, social media posts and media opportunities.

Research and prepare briefs on industry topics and initiatives as needed.

Responsible for overseeing and managing interns, reviewing their materials and providing feedback and direction as needed.

Write, edit and prepare awards nominations for submission and develop communication plans for notable award wins.

Support development, distribution and posting of quarterly and annual materials related to reporting business results (quarterly earnings calls and Annual General Meeting).

Write, edit and disseminate media materials, monitor and track media coverage and develop results reports.

Manage Corus' quarterly Community Impact Report which includes charitable tracking, content development and distribution.

Facilitate Corus Volunteer and Corus Community Boost! programs and assist with two internal fundraising initiatives (winter/spring).

Support the planning and execution of corporate and employee events as needed.

Qualifications & Experience :

  • Post-secondary education in Communication, Public Relations, Journalism, or related field.
  • 5-7 years of experience working in a communications role (e.g., corporate, agency, non-profit)
  • Phenomenal writing skills with a keen eye for detail and proof reading
  • Track record of developing and drafting successful, proactive corporate communications materials
  • Understanding of communications, social media and media relations best practices
  • Experience with social media content creation and community management
  • Project management skills with experience creating timelines, ensuring deadlines are met, participants stay on track, and projects are on delivered on time
