The Sales Representative will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service in regard to growing our commercial fuel, wholesale fuel, retail fuel, cardlock and lubricant sales. This individual will be a key member of the business team, helping to develop the strategies and tactics needed to achieve high revenue growth. The position will provide service for new and existing customers in order to grow our market share within the BC areas of the Okanagan, Kootenay, Caribou, Lower Mainland and Vancouver Island. The Sales Representative is responsible for using knowledge and experience to resolve customer issues. The Sales Representative will work closely with our customers to assist them in achieving their goals.


  • Focus on acquiring new commercial, wholesale and retail accounts within BC.
  • Customer Service focused
  • Evaluate customer's needs
  • Visit current and potential customers to promote AFD as their sole provider of fuel and lubricants
  • Track all sales calls on approved tracking sheets
  • Work with the Regional Manager and Business Development Manager to develop Dealer offerings and marketing materials.
  • Complete ROI analysis and determine product feasibility based on Company return models.
  • Promote the Mission, Vision, and Values of the organization both internally and externally, as well as oversee the adherence to Mission, Vision, and Values
  • Represent AFD in a positive professional manner working with the customer to help identify/analyze and resolve possible issues; recommend solutions
  • Work with Credit department to insure all customer accounts are paid as per their agreements
  • Attend conferences and trade shows as required
  • Maintain knowledge on current industry trends
  • Identify potential areas of technology improvement and cost saving measures.
  • Coordinate the introduction of new products
  • Coordinate customer complaint response and technical support
  • Provide input to the marketing, sales, and business teams on product quality, performance, and competitive issues as outlined by our customers
  • Collect and analyze data to understand market needs
  • Responsible for assisting with the development of specific market segment growth programs
  • Understand and analyze Branch Financial statements to remain efficient and cost effective.
  • Create recognition as AFD's Fuel solutions industry expert
  • All other duties as required
  • Make presentations to AFD Managers and Executives as required

OTHER KEY SKILLS (or product knowledge)

  • Computer literacy, including effective working skills of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe products and e-mail required.
  • Knowledge of fuel retail market
  • Familiarity with rural North America


  • 3-5 years of direct work experience in a Sales/Customer Service role
  • Demonstrate entrepreneurial values and experience, fuel experience considered an asset


Post-Secondary education in Business, Marketing, or related field
