Director, Strategic Communications
The Director, Strategic Communications will lead the development and implementation of the internal and external corporate communications strategy and oversee community engagement efforts focused on building and maintaining positive outcomes that align with corporate strategies and vision.
This position provides leadership and oversight ensuring effective, timely, and consistent communication is provided to employees and external audiences, including customers, the government, the media and third party interest groups. Responsibilities also include community engagement through strong partnerships and by developing programs, initiatives, events, sponsorships, speaking engagements, and volunteerism that foster goodwill across the province, and enhance SaskEnergy's brand.
The Director, Strategic Communications will demonstrate excellence, innovation, and reflect a positive company image when leading communications, community engagement, media relations strategies, with a view of continual improvement. We are looking for a leader with the following qualifications:
Undergraduate degree in English, Journalism, Business, Public Relations, Marketing, Communication Studies or related field.
9 years experience in related communications fields that has included progressive experience in communications development.
Proven track record creating and implementing communications (internal and external) and community investment strategies.
Experience with emergency media response including acting as the lead Corporate spokesperson.
Known for building strong relationships and creating positive corporate perception.
Communications experience within a government environment would be considered beneficial.
Travel, including overnight stays away from bid headquarters is required on occasion.
