As the Senior Communications Specialist you will have the opportunity to plan and execute internal and external communications for Baxter's business in Canada, helping tell Baxter's story in new ways to drive engagement with employees and external stakeholders. You will work closely with the communications head and country leadership team on initiatives critical to our business, including product and therapy awareness initiatives, supporting patient access strategies and our corporate giving program. Help developing and executing our strategy for external communications across our digital platforms, including our baxter.ca website and LinkedIn page.
Communications Execution: Help develop and execute internal and external communications, aligned with the goals for our business in Canada and with Baxter's overall communications goals.
Internal Communications: Develop communications for employees, including supporting communication from the country's new general manager. Work closely with our human resources team to support employee engagement goals, including COVID-19 communications needs. Manage our internal digital channels to further our impact with employees.
Digital Storytelling: Develop and implement communications programs for the LinkedIn Canada page and baxter.ca to drive external awareness and to enhance Baxter's reputation. Identify, write and produce stories that feature employees, partners and patients to demonstrate our leadership and help advance business priorities.
Writing/Editing: Write consistently in an influential, moving and memorable style, aligned to Baxter's core narrative. Edit for style, consistency and fluidity across all communications channels.
Reputation Management: Assist with media relations and issues management to build and protect our reputation in Canada.
Education and Experience:
5+ years of professional experience in public relations, preferably in a large, multinational company or public relations agency environment. Experience in medical device or pharmaceutical industry a plus.
Bachelor's degree required in marketing, communications, journalism, public relations, advertising, English/liberal arts, or transferrable area.
Experience managing websites and social media channels.
